Question: I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler Soft Top and trying to figure out what I could use for a roof rack crossbars system on the Jeep roll bars. Would like to be able to easily install and remove the rack from the roll bars as needed. I do not want a rack that permanently installs on the roll bars. Thanks.
Answer: As of this writing (6/29/2011), we highly recommend the following configuration for your 2001 Jeep Wrangler Soft Top roll bars...
Yakima Racks has devised a superb solution called the Yakima RailGrab Jeep Roll Bars roof rack kit. It quickly mounts to the roll bars on your Jeep Wrangler Soft Top. Simply remove the Soft Top and then connect the system to the Jeep Roll bars. Includes a set of four Yakima RailGrab Towers and four large Claws. Just connect a Claw to each RailGrab Tower and the Tower and Claw combine to firmly grip the roll bar when tightened down. Also includes a pair of 58 inch Yakima round cross bars with bar end caps. The 58 inch crossbars are the perfect length for spanning across from the roll bars on one side of the Jeep Wrangler over to the roll bars on the other side of the Jeep Wrangler. The Yakima RailGrab Jeep Roll Bars roof rack kit is effortless to install and uses just an allen wrench. Very quick to install and remove. Superior to permanent mounting roof rack systems.
