Question: I have a 2010 Coleman SunValley pop up camper that I want to carry bikes and a kayak on. What is the configuration you recommend for a popup camper rack system to carry bikes and a kayak?
Answer: As of this writing (3/2/2011), we highly recommend the following Yakima and Thule options for a 2010 Coleman Sun Valley pop up camper trailer rack system to carry bicycles and a kayak...
You will first install either the Yakima 60” tracks or Thule 60” tracks on your Coleman SunValley camper roof (if you do not have tracks on top already). Then if using the Yakima tracks you will mount the Yakima Control Towers roof rack system (choose the LP1 #1 Landing Pads and the 86” cross bars) to the Yakima tracks. Likewise, if using the Thule tracks you will mount the Thule 430 Tracker II roof rack system (choose the TK1 Tracker Kit and the 96” load bars) to the Thule tracks. These systems include easy to follow install instructions. You can then mount any kayak and bike carriers to the roof rack bars. Your personal preferences will be the primary factor in determining which kayak and bike carriers are best for your needs. Virtually all kayak racks and bike racks are universal mounting and will mount directly on both the Thule and Yakima cross bars. Also, both the Yakima and Thule 60” tracks can be easily cut to any shorter length to fit your needs.
