Cool Rack
this Inno INA450 kayak rack review by J.L. Santoy
vehicle year/make/model: 1994 Toyota 4Runner
item(s) transported: One 12' sit on top ocean kayak and one 10' sit in kayak
I love the Inno INA450 kayak rack. It was quick and easy to install and looks cool on my Toyota 4Runner. I can load and secure my kayaks in less than 1/2 of the time it used to take without it.
Very Versatile Rack
this Inno INA450 kayak rack review by Emmie Kay
vehicle year/make/model: 2002 Ford Focus wagon
item(s) transported: 2 sit on top 11 ft ocean kayaks
We bought this rack to attach to our 2002 Ford Focus Wagon factory roof rack. The Inno is great, but the Ford rack was flimsy and we didn't feel comfortable putting our kayaks on it. Fortunately, since this Inno rack is so versatile, we were able to put it on our Jetta's Thule base roof rack and are now happily transporting our two 11 foot sit on top ocean kayaks. The adjustable stops are great and we are ordering another set for a third kayak. I love the fact that the supports fold down after use, and the straps really hug the kayaks on the roof nicely. I highly recommend this system.
Speedloader Deluxe
this Inno INA450 kayak rack review by Mike on the Gulf Coast
vehicle year/make/model: 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE
item(s) transported: Venus 11 Ocean kayak, 12' Kingfisher kayak, Pelican Apex 2 place kayak
We were skeptical at first, but after looking at the extras required for the Thule and Yakima systems, not to mention the price, we ordered the Inno INA450 system. Regularly moving 2 kayaks on the Gulf Coast in Corpus Christi, Texas we wanted a rack that didn't take all day to attach. I'm 6', my significant other, just over 5' 2". The high profile of the '01 Nissan Pathfinder made loading to the factory racks difficult at best. The 450 securely holds both single kayaks - with plenty of room for the 2 place if needed. No extension bolts, brackets, nothing else (read expensive addons) required. Paired with the Thule 855 tie downs, a 30+ minute ordeal in the local blistering heat is now only a quick 5 minute dream. Unlike the Malone SeaWing system that we also considered, the vertical mounting eliminates the "wing lift effect" and wind loading we had seen in our usual gusty winds. After use rinsing is also easier! The cradles securely grip the kayaks while moving, and while loading. The padded uprights protect the kayaks and create a fast method for securing the load. We highly recommend the Inno system as a secure and cost effective investment.
Great, Reasonably Priced Rack
this Inno INA450 kayak rack review by EBM
vehicle year/make/model: 2008 Honda Odyssey
item(s) transported: sit inside kayaks...Wilderness System tandem 14.5 and Perception Tribute
This rack was easy to install on factory racks and easy to use with two kayaks. The kayaks didn't budge during a 6 hour car trip and left no dents in the kayaks either. I would highly recommend this rack. We could easily fit a third kayak on the roof with additional INA451 cradles even on the factory rack!
Great rack for kayaks!!!
this Inno INA450 review by Kayaking in the Boro!
vehicle year/make/model: 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander
item(s) transported: two recreational kayaks
Before getting our kayaks I searched many sites for a good carrier. I initially only looked at the Yakima and Thule products because those were the names I had heard before and they both have good reputations. After finding the Inno rack, we decided to give it a try for several reasons. 1.The price was good 2.The included Inno 451 cradle stops (how could anyone load more than one kayak without them???) 3. We were pretty certain that it would easily fit our aftermarket rack. Our purchase of the Inno rack has satisfied all of our needs. Loading and unloading is quick and easy and we don't worry about the security of our yaks!
Terrific rack for loading 2 kayaks by yourself
this Inno INA450 review by TacomaTim
vehicle year/make/model: 2008 Toyota Tacoma double cab
item(s) carried: 2 kayaks
After my head was swimming from researching all of the rack options for carrying two kayaks I finally found this Inno rack which meets all of my needs beautifully: 1)Holds two kayaks 2)Makes it easy to load them solo (my family doesn't wake up as early as I do, so I can have the 'yaks all loaded up) 2)Price is very good. Other racks required purchasing additional accessories making them much more expensive. I have already recommended the rack to all of my facebook friends and my brother.
Seems to be Exactly what I Needed
this Inno 2 Kayak Carrier INA450 review by JB-Baltimore, MD
vehicle year/make/model: 2004 Subaru Forester
item(s) transported: 2 Kayaks (1 13.5 ft & 1 16 ft)
I bought this so we could easily carry 2 kayaks. This model was much more cost effective than buying 2 sets of other kayak carriers. It also seems like it will be easier for me to use on my own to load my kayak (I'm 5'1"), but I have yet to try it on my own. It was relatively easy to install and carries the two kayaks very securely. I just purchased this in the winter so I only used it once, but so far it seems to be exactly what I needed.
Space Saving, Solid Support
this Inno INA450 review by ebennett
vehicle year/make/model: 1999 Toyota Sienna
item(s) carried: two 14'-6" Heritage SeaDart sit on top kayaks
I bought this specifically because I had an Inno base rack already, and I wanted a stacker type to leave room for my roof box. And I had to be comfortable driving on the Maine Turnpike for 4 hours. This setup was rock solid at highway (65-70 that is) speeds. Love that it folds down when not in use.
A Superior Carrier for 2 Kayaks
this Inno INA450 review by Steve
vehicle year/make/model: 2009 Chrysler Town & Country
item(s) carried: 2 sea kayaks
The INA 450 is easy to install and it takes only minutes to load two ocean-going kayaks. The strapping mechanism is simple but extremely secure and holds the kayaks tightly to the rack. Loading and use is simple for my wife and me, both over 60 years old. This is an excellent and well-built product that works great with the factory installed roof racks.
Exceeded Expectations for Function and Ease of Installation
this Inno INA450 review by New Paddler
vehicle year/make/model: 2001 Ford Escape
The padded saddles that mount directly to the Ford Escape factory cross bars make all the difference for ease of loading, kayak protection, and secure strap down without the multiple loops suggested by other manufacturers. Can't figure out why the competitors don't have this feature which is well worth the extra $20 or so. Not even a hint of vibration or shifting at 70 mph w/2 kayaks. I'm not enamored of the way the fold-down feature works, but this is a relatively small detraction.
Eliminates the Normal Hassle of Kayak Stackers
this Inno INA450 review by karma queen
The Inno INA450 kayak carrier is an exceptional product. So exceptional, that I am compelled to write this review. You see, the normal problem with kayak stackers is that they are hard to load alone. If you’ve tried strapping the boats down alone, you know that you have to hold the boats against the upright while you tighten the straps. The Inno INA450 comes with stops that mount on the bars to hold the edge of your kayak. Such a simple idea but one that makes all the difference in the world. Other than that feature, the stacker works great. Folds down flat when you’re not using it too, very nice touch.
Fits Our Factory Bars & Works Great!
this Inno INA450 review by Dvorin from TN
We’ve had zero problems with our INA450 kayak rack from Inno. It mounted right to our factory crossbars and has worked great. The best thing is that the upper support masts fold down flat, which for us, with a tall vehicle and a low garage, is very important. The other great thing is the brackets that hold the boats upright. Makes loading and unloading a lot easier.
The Best Kayak Carrier Out There!
this Inno INA450 review by Tony
Thule and Yakima should take notes from Inno. This kayak carrier is sweet! Everything about it is awesome, especially the rubber padded cradle thingies that keep the boat from slipping on the crossbars. It'd be nice if the entire support arm folded all the way down when not in use (instead of only part of the arm) but it's really no big deal. In short, stop shopping around and buy this carrier!
