Question: I have a cargo box which I used on my 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The factory installed roof rack with cross bars worked perfectly. My new 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited only has roof rails on the side. I need a solution to mount my cargo box on the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2013 Limited. I do already have the Thule cross bars square version, and would like to be able to still use those if possible.
Answer: As of this writing, 1/11/2013, we highly recommend the Thule 460 Podium roof rack system for your 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with side rails. Those are actually flush side rails, meaning there's no space between the rials and the roof top (hence they are flush with the roof top). Since you already have the square load bars, you will only need the Thule 460 Podium Foot Pack and the Thule 4019 Podium Fit Kit brackets. The 4019 Fit Kit brackets mount o the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited flush side rails. And of course you can simply reuse your current Thule square cross bars with the 460 Foot Pack, which attach to each 4019 Fit Kit mounting bracket. Easy install instructions included. You can then attach your current roof mount cargo box to the cross bars. Listed below are the individual components you will need, the 460 Podium Foot Pack and the 4019 Fit Kit, as well as an option for the complete base rack system, which also includes a pair of load bars (if you decided to just go ahead and get new cross bars as well.)
