It is a unique roof rack roller attachment for easy and hassle-free loading of your canoe, kayak or any type of roof rack mounting watercraft. The Maine Roll On attaches directly onto the rear cross bar of Thule Racks and Yakima Racks. It does NOT work with factory racks. The nearly frictionless roller system allows one person to easily load or unload a canoe, kayak, pram dinghy or other small craft by themselves. The soft covering of the roller eliminates scratching of the craft being loaded. Now you can enjoy paddle sports whether or not you have someone to help you load your canoe, kayak or other watercraft onto your roof rack.

The Maine Roll On canoe-kayak loader system consists of a galvanized steel tubing roller that is covered with a low density (soft) PVC covering that protects the item being loaded from scratches. The roller has glass filled nylon axles pressed into each end, that provide a lubrication free bearing with the brackets. The mounting brackets are made of die cast high strength aluminum. Mounting hardware is zinc plated. The Maine Roll On is available in three lengths - 42 inches, 45 inches and 56 inches - sufficient for virtually all types of roof mount watercraft. The Maine Roll On attaches directly onto the rear cross bar of Thule Racks and Yakima Racks. It does NOT work with factory racks.
MAINE ROLL-ON INSTRUCTIONS
Place the roller in the "Load Station"
(see image directly below). This will cause the roller to stand
above the rear horizontal bar of the rack. Then simply approach
your vehicle and place the bow of the canoe on the roller. For sea
kayaks and other items over 18 feet, use of the "High Load
Station" is suggested.
Move to the stern and pick up your canoe/kayak.
Slowly walk forward, causing the canoe/kayak to roll effortlessly
onto the rack.
When in position, lower the canoe/kayak onto the front roof rack
cross bar.
Lastly, lift the stern slightly and position roller in the "Carry
Station" (see "Load Stations" image above) which
places your canoe/kayak in full contact with the rear roof rack
cross bar, and stows the roller out of the way. This is a good time
to double check on safety and check to make sure your roof rack
as well as The "Maine Roll On" are safely secured to your
vehicle. Safely secure your canoe/kayak with heavy duty straps (see
accessories below) and bow-stern tie down straps (see accessories
below) and be on your way!
