The MPG113MD Malone SeaWing and Stinger Combo Kayak Rack System is a complete universal kayak carrier package that includes the Malone Seawing kayak saddles and the rear Malone Stinger kayak lift assist. The Malone SeaWing kayak saddles are engineered with unique v-cradle center-point mounting, allowing the Malone SeaWing kayak rack to mount much closer to the edge of the roof rack crossbars (crossbars are also strongest close to edge too). If you want to transport a second kayak you can simply mount a second pair of Malone SeaWing kayak saddles close to the edge on the other side of the base rack crossbars, providing enough room to carry both kayaks flat and side by side without any interference.
The Malone Stinger kayak lift assist permanently attaches to the rear Malone SeaWing v-cradle kayak saddle. When you are ready to load and unload your boat just extend the Stinger backwards over the back of your vehicle (extends up to 22 inches!), then place front of kayak onto the integrated slide guides and push the kayak forward until in position on the front and rear Malone SeaWing kayak saddles. Then retract the Stinger into its storage postion for travel. Just one person can easily load any size kayak and the vehicle is fully protected from contact with the kayak when loading and unloading.
The included JAWZ universal mounting hardware allows the MPG113MD Malone SeaWing Stinger Combo kayak rack to directly clamp onto to all styles of aftermarket roof rack systems including any Thule Racks load bars (square, oval Rapid Aero & Xsporter truck rack etc.), Yakima Racks round bars and Inno Racks crossbars. Best of all, the included attachment bolts allow the Malone SeaWing Stinger Combo kayak carrier to mount directly to virtually all factory rack cross bars (for certain specific very large / oversized factory crossbars such as Nissan XTerra, the Malone MPG364 80mm long bolt kit is required; not included, see accessory add-ons below). Also includes two 12' heavy-duty cam-buckle load straps and a pair of bow / stern tie-down straps for total transport safety. No tools required for installation!
- Malone Seawing saddles constructed of ultra-strong, long-lasting and corrosion proof polycarbon with ribbed synthetic rubber padding. Will not corrode from sea salt or other harsh elements of nature, unlike competitors' models made of metal.

This unit seems to have been well designed. The unit fits on the crossbars of my Nissan Xterra quite well, with no shifting in any way. I did purchase longer bolts with hex nuts at my local hardware store for ease of installation on the super fat XTerra cross bars, and for greater security. The rear v-guide makes it simple for me to load the boat and keeps the keel tracking down the center of the Sea Wings. In addition, because I'm on the short side, the v-guide makes loading and unloading the boat much safer and more stable. I've had the unit on my Xterra throughout this last winter, with no ill effects from the cold weather. The unit seems very durable and I anticipate it will last a good long time.

Regina asks - How much weight can this kayak carrier hold?
ORS Racks Direct Crew answers - Holds up to 70 lbs. and up to 32" wide kayaks.
ORS Racks Direct Crew says - Malone Racks work great on oversize factory crossbars too. Includes two complete sets of 50mm and 60mm mounting bolts with T-knobs. You'll use the longer bolts with oversize bars. The instructions manual outlines this for you.
Bill asks - Could I mount 2 SeaWing Stinger Combo kayak carriers side by side on my 2003 and 1999 GMC Yukon models? Also, would the carriers fit the standard factory cross bars on each vehicle or would I need to purchase additional cross bars?
ORS Crew answers - Yes, this system will mount directly to both your 1999 GMC Yukon and 2033 GMC Yukon factory rack cross bars. Also, the SeaWing V-Saddles are one of the few carriers that will allow you to carry 2 kayaks flat and side by side on the factory rack because the V-saddles enable the carriers and kayaks to be closer together than most other kayak saddles.
Marshall asks - Will this Malone Seawing Stinger Combo fit a 2010 Mini Cooper Clubman? It has factory side rails on it. I live alone and need to be able to get my kayak on the roof for transport.
ORS Crew answers - You first need to install a base rack cross bars system on the 2010 Mini Clubman factory side rails. The Thule 45050 Crossroad roof rack package is a superb system. Even includes a set of locks. You can then attach the SeaWing-Stinger kayak rack combo to the 45050 Crossroad cross bars. The SeaWing Stinger Combo is an excellent choice that provides great lift-assistance so you can load and unload the kayak yourself.
Jim A. asks - I have a 2007 Toyota 4 Runner with factory roof rack crossbars. I am interested in the Malone Seawing Stinger Combo. Will this work and are there any other items I would need other than what is listed? I have a bad back so I need a system that will not hurt my lower back.
ORS Crew answers - This works great on the 2007 Toyota 4Runner factory bars. Everything you need is included. This will dramatically decrease the effort required to load and unload the kayak.
T.S.Howard asks - I am trying to mount 2 kayaks on my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer and would like to use two of these Malone kayak carriers. I have a factory installed roof rack. What will I need to achieve this?
ORS Crew answers - We are going to assume that your 2007 Chevy Trailblazer factory rack is mounted to factory tracks on the rooftop, as this is the most common configuration for this vehicle. If this is NOT the case, please contact us as we will need further details for then recommending a more specialized, custom and possibly permanent roof rack installation. For a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer factory rack that is mounted to the factory tracks: You will first need to replace your current factory rack with a compatible aftermarket roof rack system that will provide 1) the proper clearance of the rack crossbars from the vehicle rooftop that will provide room for installing the kayak carriers etc. 2) providing cross bars strong enough to safely handle transporting gear and equipment, such as kayak on the roof rack and crossbars. We highly recommend the Thule 460 Podium roof rack system (select the 3101 Fit Kit and LB58 58" length load bars). After removing your current factory rack from the factory tracks (this is a very easy procedure), the Podium system will then quickly attach to the factory rack tracks on your rooftop using the included 3101 Podium Fit Kit. You can then attach any two sets of kayak carriers of your choice (including the Malone SeaWing-Stinger combo) to the Podium roof rack cross bars.
