The all-new RockyMounts PitchFork Bike Rack is the perfect example why Rocky Mounts bike racks are great racks at good prices! Connects directly to both Yakima round bars and Inno & Thule square bars, no additional adapter hardware needed. Includes many of the same great features found on the discontinued Lariat SL fork mount bike rack model, but is now engineered with more universal compatibility to fit virtually all styles of bicycles and a re-designed lock system that enables both the bike to be locked inside the RockyMounts PitchFork bike rack and the rack itself to the car rack crossbars. Includes the stainless steel, long-throw, lockable Rocky Mounts quick release skewer (lock cores sold separately; see accessory add-ons below), the easiest quick release to use in the bike rack industry. One sided smooth, positive adjustment, large knob is easy to turn, 12mm of closure (closest competitor only has 7mm!).
TWO OPTIONS FOR LOCKING ROCKYMOUNTS PITCHFORK
The RockyMounts PitchFork fork mount bike rack includes the most innovative and theft-proof system available on the market today. Two options for locking the Pitch Fork carrier: OPTION 1) Just purchase one RockyMounts lock (not included; see accessory add-ons below). Insert into quick release skewer and lock, this will simultaneously lock bicycle to the bike rack and prevent access to the bike rack mounting bolts, preventing scummy thieves from simply removing the rack. OPTION 2) To make life the easist, simply buy a 2 pack of RockyMounts locks and insert one lock into the fork block head unit. Now the RockyMounts PitchFork will always be locked to the car rack crossbars. Use the second lock in the quick release skewer to lock bike to carrier. With fork block head always locked you don't have to ever worry about the rack being vulnerable to theft.

Better that Yakima and Thule

The PitchFork features a lot of innovation. The fork mount is super cool and makes it easy to place and remove a bike. The rack is very low profile and aerodynamic. I would recommend this to any friend over Yakima and Thule.

I bought two of these racks for my son's birthday. My son searched for the best bike rack to go with his Thule roof rack cross rails. He loves this product. He says it is much better made than Thule or Yakima. All metal and heavy duty. It was easy to install and very easy to attach his bike.

The Pitch Fork is as good as it gets in the rack world. It's all the best that Yakima and Thule used to be but no longer are and in way better colors! The lockable mount is sleek and efficient. I love how the mount locks to the load bars, but even if it didn't, the lockable skewer prevents access to the mounting hardware. From design and construction to price, it is unbeatable. As my older Thule racks wear out (or I just sell them), I'll definitely replace them with more Rocky Mounts!

Purchased this bike rack because the description said great rack at a good price and it's a fit for my Inno rack system. The description was spot on. This rack works with my mountain bike, my kids bikes, boys 20" and a girls 26", and friends' disc brake full size mountain bikes. If you can find a rack for this price that carries a variety of bikes and fits different rack systems, buy it. However I doubt you'll ever find such a value. Can't beat the customer service of ORS too.

This is my first bike rack though I've used many of my friends racks over the years. This rack easily fits my 29er wheels and I feel my bikes are completely safe with the stability and safety of this great rack. I bought the bright orange rack which also makes it very easy to find my car in a parking lot, or anywhere for that matter!

Anyone want to buy 2 Thule long trays? I want another Rocky Mount! The overcenter actuated fork clamp works super, though it takes a minute to adjust. The rear tire strap is versatile in that it slides the length of the tray, no matter where the tray is anchored to the back bar! Fits multiple styles of fork and multiple types of bikes easily. Again, I'd buy another in a second!

ORS Crew explains - The total length of the Pitch Fork bicycle carrier, including fork block and bike tray is 48 inches.
ORS Crew explains - If you are concerned about the rear of the bike tray hitting your hatchback when it opens, you will need 48.5" from the front edge of your front roof rack cross bar to the hatchback door when open position. If there isn't enough clearance, a great tip is to simply flip the bike rack so it is facing backwards.
