The 4239J Saris Thelma Juvenile Hitch Bike Rack is the same as the 4239 Saris Thelma 3 bike hitch rack but replaces one of the regular wheel cradles with a Saris Thelma Juvenile wheel cradle that allows for the transport of a kid's bicycle or bmx bike with 20" wheels.
Saris 4239J Thelma Juvenile holds 3 bicycles including one kid's bicycle or bmx bike with 20" wheels. Universally fits both 1.25" and 2" hitch receivers. The other two bike tray wheel cradles fit like a glove over virtually any size tire, from skinny 700c road bike tires to cruisers, hybrids and knobby fat mountain bike tires, even 29" 29er mountain bike tires. The included ratcheting wheel straps are simple to use, click into place and stay tight against the wheels. Hitch rack never touches bike frame so no worries about markings or damaged bike frame paint jobs. Saris Thelma Juvenile hitch bike rack conveniently folds up and out of the way when not is use too. The included anti-wobble hitch bolt keeps hitch base solid & tight in hitch receiver.
For total bicycle and bike hitch rack theft protection we recommend the Saris Locking Hitch Tite (not included; see accessory add-ons below) to lock Saris Thelma Juvenile to receiver hitch and the Saris Locking Cable (not included; see accessory add-ons below) to lock the bikes to the rack.

No More Struggling to Load Bikes!

I just received my Saris Thelma Juvenile. The assembly and installation was straightforward and I have loaded all three bikes for a tour of the neighborhood. So far, so good! The bikes are VERY easy to load up--I'm loving that there is no more struggle to lift them up onto a bar and work to slide the women's frames back over the various attachments on the old rack! It took me two to three minutes to load and secure all three bikes on the Thelma, and I anticipate that this will get even easier now that I know the process. There's a little bit of sway from the rack itself when you go over bumps, around corners, etc., but it's pretty minimal and the bikes stay in place very solidly on their mounts. I'm looking forward to getting some good use from it in our upcoming trip to Yosemite, and enjoying more local trips with the bikes now that it's so easy to get them on and off the car!
