The A21106B SportRack Sherpa 13 Cargo Roof Bag delivers the convenience of a soft roof bag, a massive 13 cu. ft. cargo capacity and water-resistant construction at a low low low price! The SportRacks Roof Bag universally attaches to virtually all factory roof racks with crossbars and raised side rails. Also attaches to aftermarket car rack systems including any Thule Racks, Inno Racks and Yakima Racks multi-purpose base rack systems mounted to raised factory side rails. (PLEASE NOTE: The SportRack Sherpa roof bag requires a 4-way cross bar roof rack system for attachment, meaning the base rack system must have a pair of cross bars and a pair of raised side-rails on the rooftop - see video below for explanation.) 2-ply durable water-resistant exterior and interior construction keeps contents of roof bag dry (for best water-resistant protection we highly recommend the Thule 867 Tahoe roof bag). Its difficult to say much more than the Sport Rack Sherpa 13 is just a simple bag that attaches to the car roof rack and carries your stuff. We were going on vacation and decided we wanted more room, but wanted the cheapest bag we could find. The Sportrack bag was by far the cheapest out there. As far as doing what we expected out of it, it passed the bar. For the price it is amazing.

I just moved to campus in my Ford Focus and I was determined to take everything I needed in one car load. I was convinced that I could do it, that anything that wouldn’t fit I didn’t need. That is probably true, but after cramming my car full, I still had a lot of stuff that I didn’t want to leave behind. There was no way reorganizing the inside of the wagon was going to work, and for a minute I didn’t know what I was going to do, but then I thought about a roof bag. Yes, I thought, that will do, until I realized how expensive those things are. Luckily SportRack makes a simple bag for people like me who just need a temporary solution. And it did the trick. It went right on the car rack crossbars and I stuffed the thing full.

Very impressed with the quality of the Sherpa. I was skeptical when I ordered it because it was so much cheaper than all the other roof bag options AND it holds more stuff than most other carriers! But very happy to report that the bag is 100% quality, very thick material with a water resistant coating. I read about placing all your luggage inside plastic bags before putting them in a roof bag, so I did it and everything stayed dry. If you use plastic bags for waterproof protection then there is no reason to buy any other bag but the Sherpa roof bag in my opinion.

Karen S. asks - What is the material on the Sherpa made out of, is it a waterproof roof bag?
ORS Crew answers - It is made out of a water-resistant nylon material that does a good job of keeping all the cargo and luggage dry inside the bag. Technically there are no 100% waterproof roof bags, and with the SportRack A21106B Sherpa 13 you get weatherproof construction, which means it will protect the contents from the rain and other bad weather conditions up to a certain point. It also has velcro seals that are made to cover the zippered areas for the added protection against water and dirt. It is not waterproof because to be considered as waterproof the roof bag would have to be submerged under water and allow no water whatsoever inside. Since the roof bag has zippers and straps that are sewn in for strength, the sewing procedure leaves small holes from the needle that could possibly allow some leakage. Most people just put all their luggage and belongings inside large plastic trash bags before putting them in a roof bag, and then you are all set.
W. Michaels asks - Just want to confirm this will work on the factory rack on a 2005 Toyota Sienna before I go ahead and buy this bag.

Jeff in CO asks - My 2010 Honda Odyssey has no rack on the roof, just a plain bare rooftop. I realize you need side rails and crossbars for this carrier to work, but can you recommend any other options that will work as a 2008 Honda Odyssey roof bag for the Odyssey model with nothing on the cartop? Thanks.
ORS Crew answers - Check out the Yakima GetOut. It is another economical, cheap priced roof bag that will work nicely on the bare rooftop of the 2010 Honda Odyssey.

This cartop luggage soft roof bag requires a factory roof rack installed or after-market multi-purpose base rack system with 2 crossbars and 2 raised side rails for attachment.
We highly recommend either the LashLock or SteelCore locking straps (not included; see accessory add-ons above) for maximum security of car roof bag contents when left unattended.
Also works great as a storage organizer, squashed bug protector and foul weather protector when used with the SportRack A21030 Roof Basket.
