The SportRack ABR611 Nomad Upright Mount Bike Rack accomplishes what many premium upright mount bike racks are unable to do --- mount directly to factory rack crossbars! Also attaches directly to all styles of Thule Racks base rack load bars, Inno Car Rack cross bars and Yakima Racks round bars. The SportRack Nomad Upright Mount Bike Rack has fully padded, clamping jaws that won't impact your bike frame finish and is compatible with just about any bicycle size and shape - bmx bikes, kids, women's, hybrids, road bikes and mountain bikes (fits 1" - 2.5" diameter and elliptical bike frame tubes; just about all bikes fit this specification except for some freeride and downhill mountain bikes with ultra-fat bike frames). Fully adjusting arm and clamping jaws. Also includes a lock and key to prevent theft of bicycle if left unattended. No need to take the front wheel off, simply place bicycle on bike tray, raise the arms and clamp down bike frame for stable and worry free transport of bicycle everytime! Inexpensive, Functional, Not Fancy

This was my first roof mount rack purchase. I selected these based almost exclusively on price, I just couldn't justify spending $200 on a bike rack. The rack assembles easily, if you read the directions. It mounted perfectly on my factory Subaru Bars. I haven't had to tighten or adjust the bars since installing. The bike loads easily, even with just one person. The clamp holds securely and the wheel straps do their job. Bike stayed put at 70 with no problems. I leave the rack on my car, even when not in use. I haven't noticed any wind noise, though you need to make sure to secure the wheel straps or they'll flop around. Leaving the rack on the car also hasn't decreased my fuel economy. Bottom line is this a very inexpensive rack that does what it should. Nothing fancy, but a solid way to carry your road bike.

Thank goodness someone still makes a regular inexpensive bike rack like this one. I have no need for all these newer, fancier, and way more expensive bike racks on the market today. The clamping mechanism is simple but works effectively, and the straps hold the wheels securely. It might take a little bit longer to load and unload, but I don't feel that spending twice as much to save a few seconds is worth it. For the price of this rack, it is very good.
