This is the best rack on the market. Look no further if you want a hassle free carrier. It is so easy to use my wife loads the bikes without complaints! No crossbar connections required, no crooked hanging bikes, no tire removal, just latch the bike in the tire trays and off you go.

I spent a lot of time researching the different options of tray style hitch racks before settling with the Thule T2, and I can say with conviction that it is the best one available. It has the most features that make the most sense, and it works the best. Like other similar racks, the T2 can fold up when not in use, but only the T2 has a handy switch, rather than a removable pin, to perform this function. It may not have an integrated bottle opener like its Yakima counterpart, but it does have adjustable trays, that allow you to position the bikes in such a way so that they aren’t touching. In my opinion, this is a more useful feature than a bottle opener. The other unique feature is its ability to fold slightly down and away, which allows you to gain access to the rear of the vehicle while the bikes are still mounted. The convenience of this feature alone makes the rack superior to the others. As far as loading and unloading the bikes, it couldn’t be easier. The ratcheting hooks that grab the tires adjust perfectly and hold the bike firmly in place.

The Thule T2 makes mounting bikes an extremely quick and easy task, and when mounted, the bikes are very, very secure. Unlike a roof rack, your bikes don’t get covered with dead bugs. It swings up. It swings down. It does it all. This is a great rack through and through. Tule Racks nailed it on this one.

Todd asks - How many lock cylinders are required to outfit the T2? I know I need the locking hitch pin, but how many to outfit the arms?
ORS Racks Direct Crew answers - Each clamping arm can use one lock cylinder. So you would need a 2 pack of locks. But if you add the 918 T2 Add-On you should get a 4 pack of locks to lock all 4 bikes (one lock for each of the four bike arms).
