When using as a surboard lock, canoe lock, kayak lock, ladder lock etc, the SteelCore Straps are simply wrapped under each roof rack cross bar and over the item. Loosely tighten, lock the cam on each strap, then pull to cinch and tighten down. There is no need to even pass the straps through openings or eyeholes on your equipment. Lock is a totally weather-resistant stainless steel scalped cam lock. Completely salt water resistant, and the lock is double-bitted; the keys have teeth on both sides and can be inserted in either direction.
Buckle is forged from hardened aircraft aluminum (6061). The pins and catch are all stainless steel. The buckle is designed by aerospace engineers to be operated with one hand, making it easy to use. It is the first buckle of its kind.
The one-inch wide straps are thick polypropelene webbing with a core made from cut resistant steel aircraft cable. Straps will not scratch any surface.
Attached bungee cord prevents straps from unravelling when rolled up and neatly holds extra strap length when in use.
Plastic boot underneath the buckle prevents the metal buckle from scratching or marring any finish.
