The locking SteelCore Surf Carrier is a superbly engineered multi-purpose gear carrier system for any vehicle that currently has a roof rack installed, including any factory rack with crossbars, Yakima base rack system, Thule base rack system, Inno base rack system etc. The locking SteelCore Surf Carrier simply attaches to the roof rack crossbars and you're ready to load stand up paddle boards, surfboards, kayak, ski bags & snowboard bags, ladder and more. A simple to use and very secure general-purpose gear carrier that makes a great stand up paddleboard rack, surfboard rack, kayak carrier, ski-snowboard carrier etc.
The SteelCore Surf Carrier has locking straps integrated right into the crossbar pads. No hassling with gathering straps and throwing them over the other side. The soft SteelCore crossbar pads simultaneously protect vehicle and gear while preventing any shifting during transit.

This locking surfboard rack has been a great purchase. It was extremely easy to install and the straps are no hassle. It is really nice to have locking straps especially on road trips, this way I don't have to worry about our precious gear being stolen!

Scott asks - My factory roof rack has rather large diameter cross bars. Will the Steelcore Locking Surf Carrier pads fit the OEM larger diameter cross bars?
ORS Crew answers - You are looking at maximum crossbar dimensions of 3.5 inches in width and 2 inches in height that the pads will fit. Another superb option is the Yakima WaveHog stand-up paddleboard & surfboard carrier which works with all sizes of factory cross bars. It also uses rack pads just like the SteelCore pads and also includes locking straps.
