The complete Thule 450R Rapid CrossRoad car roof rack system is a multi-purpose base rack solution for vehicles with roof mount side rails (the two bars located on both sides of the roof that run parallel to each other from the front to back of the roof). The Thule 450R Rapid Crossroad car rack system works the same as the regular Thule 450 Crossroad system but uses the premium looking, aerodynamic Thule Rapid Aero bars instead of square load bars. Easy to install and remove with the turn of a handle - the only tool required for mounting and removal of the roof rack is the included tightening tool integrated into the handle that stores right inside the 450R Foot! We highly recommend a four pack of Thule Locks (not included; see accessory add-ons below) to lock the rack to vehicle.
The Thule 450R Rapid CrossRoad complete roof rack system includes all 2 components that are necessary for installing a general-purpose base rack on your vehicle's roof top, providing the platform that will allow you to then connect roof mount gear carriers that carry your gear and equipment:
- Four (4) Thule 450R Rapid CrossRoad Feet.
- Two (2) Two Rapid Aero Aluminum Load bars (bar end caps included).
The Thule 450R Cross Road Foot Pack is designed to work exclusively with the super strong Thule Rapid Aero load bars, creating a seemlessly integrated sleek look. Rapid Aero aluminum load bars are offered in four sizes for optimal fit on any vehicle (Thule Racks recommended load bar length will be provided unless otherwise specified when adding system to your cart). Customize rack by connecting Thule gear carriers to Rapid Aero load bars. (Thule Xadapt kits required for connecting certain carriers; see accessory add-ons below). Protective surfaces on rack prevent shifting and protect car's paint. This is a beautiful roof rack. I highly recommend this for anyone with a very snazzy looking car and needs crossbars for a factory rack that only has the side rails (the bars that run from the front to the back of the roof, as opposed to crossbars that run across the rooftop from one side to the other). Yes they are more expensive than the regular Thule 450 Cross Road version, but the 450R Rapid Cross Road has a truly seemless look. And the aluminum elliptical rapid aero bars are much more spiffy looking than the clunky looking square load bars used on the 450 CrossRoad. Each 450R Rapid Crossroad Foot is slotted on top to accept the aluminum Rapid Load Bars for a seamless look. Also I really think it's cool how Thule built the Rapid Crossroad's adjustment tool into each 450R Rapid Foot so it couldn't be any easier to adjust and tighten down.
