Thule Podium Rack - Excellent for Subie WRX

I ordered the Thule Podium rack from ORS Racks Direct after a lot of research - best product for my needs and by far the best price. The rack was shipped FAST and arrived in half the expected time. Installation was simple and only took a few minutes. The other parts I ordered (also reviewed) arrived at the same time and all work together just fine for carrying my wide canoe on the car securely at any (reasonable!) speed and over any terrain.

If you will simply take your time to read the instructions and follow them step by step, assembly and mounting is a snap - start to finish. They look great and are very sturdy. This is my second BMW and my second Thule roof rack and bike carrier system. It is well worth the cost and the best way to go if you want to haul your bikes around with total confidence!

Super Easy Installation

With the included fit kit, the Podiums installed directly into the threaded bolt receivers that were already on the roof of the van. The rack look's as if it came factory installed. Topped with two sets of Hull-a-Port Pro Kayak Racks, I can haul both my sea kayaks.

This is an awesome, sturdy rack. It screws in the roof (mazda 3), and feels very strong. The only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is the road noise, but that must be a normal thing with roof racks (except factory racks that are permanently mounted on the car). After the 1st installation, I can take this on and off in about 5 minutes, really nice. I highly recommend this rack.

Chris W. asks - The Thule fit guide says I need to use the Podium system on my 2011 Audi Q7, but it doesn't have fixed-points on the rooftop but instead has factory side rails that are flush to the cartop. Can I get a confirmation that I do need to use the Podium?

ORS Crew answers - You are correct. Thule Racks has engineered the Podium system to universally fit not only cars with fixed-points but also many cars with flush side rails. You will need to choose the 4002 Podium Fit Kit. You'll connect each 4002 Fit Kit to each Podium Foot and then the Fit Kits easily clamp tightly to the flush side rails for a really good looking and very rock solid multi-purpose base rack system.

Robert asks - Double-checking that I can now use the Podium system with the Thule 3101 Fit Kit to attach to the permanently installed Thule Roof Tracks that I have installed on my camper shell.

ORS Crew answers - Yes the 3101 Podium Fit Kit replaces the discontinued TK1 Tracker Kit (the Thule 430 Tracker II rack system is being fazed out of the product line) and connects to any Thule Tracks so you can now use the Podium roof rack system.

ORS Crew explains - The 460 Podium system is now compatible with many vehicle factory rack roof tracks and other unique fits on certain vehicles. A new line of Podium Fit Kits is now available and replaces several of the discontinued TK Tracker Kits that were used with the 430 Tracker II roof rack system (now being fazed out of production). Thule has created a Podium Fit Kit to replace several TK Tracker Kits – the 3101 Podium Fit Kit replaces the TK1 Tracker Kit, 3150 replaces TK8, 3109 replaces TK9, 3112 replaces TK12, 3113 replaces TK13 and 3114 replaces TK14.

Wayne Hymes asks - Before placing my order I need to confirm that this is the correct system for my 2007 Chrsler Town & Country factory rack tracks (replacing the current factory rack crossbars).

ORS Crew answers - Yes, the Thule 460 Podium roof rack system is the one you will use on the 2007 Chrysler Town & Country factory rack tracks to replace the current factory rack crossbar system. Be sure to choose the Thule 3101 Podium Fit Kit, these attach to the factory tracks. The 50" bars are also the recommended length. The Thule 460R Rapid Podium roof rack system is also an option. It works exactly the same way as the regular 460 Podium but uses the premium AeroBlade load bars instead of the classic square load bars. Be sure to select the ARB43 AeroBlade bars for the 07 Chrysler Town & Country if opting for the 460R Rapid Podium system.

Courtney asks - We have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and we want to be able to use our 2 Thule Hullavators with the vehicle. Will this work? If so, what do we need for using the Hullavators on the '12 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

ORS Crew answers - Assuming you have the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the flush side rails (the two rails that run from front to back of the rooftop near the roof edges on the driver side and passenger side, and 'flush' meaning that they are flush against the rooftop instead of raised with space between the siderails and the rooftop). You simply need to install either the Thule 460 Podium roof rack system or the Thule 460R Rapid Podium roof rack system to the flush side rails. Both systems use the same Podium Fit Kit (select the 4019 Podium Fit Kit for the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee) for attachment to the side rails. Both systems also include a Podium Foot Pack and pair of load bars. The only difference is the 460 Podium system uses the regular square Thule bars bars (select the 58" length) and the 460R Rapid Podium System uses the premium silent AeroBlade bars (select the ARB53 AeroBlade bars length). You'll be able to then attach your two Thule Hullavator kayak sets to either of these bar styles.

G. Brown asks - I want to put on a basic Thule rack on a 2012 Subaru Impreza 5 door (with naked rooftop currently). I already have the LB50 50" Thule square bars from my old rack I can still use. What Foot and Kit do I need to accomplish this?

ORS Crew answers - The 460 Podium Foot Pack is needed as well as the Thule 3068 Podium Fit Kit.
