The new Thule 516 Prologue Bike Rack is a sleek and sturdy fork mount bike carrier that provides quick and secure bicycle transport at an exceptional value. There’s nothing too fancy here, just a simple, reliable, and affordable fork mounted bike rack that is ideal for road, hybrid, and mountain bikes with tires up to 2.6” in width (fits virtually all bikes except for freeride / downhill mtn. bikes with ultra-fat tires). The lockable, stainless steel universal skewer (lock sold separately; see accessory add-ons below) with oversized lever is beefy and easy to use. Fork block head is carbon fork friendly, and it will accommodate all disc-brake / suspension combinations with standard 9mm axles (see accessory add-ons below for fork adapters to use with other styles/sizes of axles).
For the ultimate in theft proof security, When the skewer is locked, the Thule 516 Prologue bike rack simultaneously locks to the car rack crossbars, so even if you aren’t carrying a bike, the 516 Prologue wont find its way into the hands of scummy thieves. Out of the box, the Thule 516 Prologue will mount directly to Thule square bars, Inno square bars, and Yakima round bars. Also attaches to elliptical Thule Rapid Aero load bars & Thule Xsporter truck rack using the Thule Xadapt9 adaptors. Attaches to car factory roof rack crossbars using the Thule 532 Ride On Adapter.

I'm glad Thule Racks finally came out with an inexpensive, cheap bike rack option. I was having a hard time justifying the price of the more 'premium bike racks'. I've been putting off buying new bike racks for a few years, but jumped on the 516 Prologue when I heard about it. I travel alot to bike races and need 4 fork mount bike racks on my Honda Civic for car pooling to the races. I saved a bunch of money going with the Prologue. And this bike rack has everything you'd need honestly. Do spend on locks though. Very cool how just keeping the skewer locked, even when no bike is in the carrier, secures the Prologue to the car rack crossbars. Skewer is easy to use and once it is adjusted the first time you don't need to keep adjusting it if you put the same bike back into the same carrier.
