Nothing to add here really. We bought the Thule Snow Cat, installed it without any difficulties, drove to Lake Tahoe, CA, skied for 4 days and came back. Great product, was able to hold at least 3 pairs of adult skis & poles no problem.

Amazingly simple. Direct to my side rails.

When I first looked for a ski rack, I was told that I first needed to buy towers and crossbars to attach to my side rails, which was going to cost almost $200. That was before even buying the ski carrier! Luckily, I did some research and found the Thule Snow Cat, which is a ski carrier that mounts directly to my side rails. This is what I'm talking about! And it worked amazingly well. It installed quickly and easily and it does a great job carrying my skis. Kudos to Tule Racks for this design!!

It was a great purchase, I can easily fit 4 people and boards in my car (and with the size of my car thats very important). I like how it looks too, I won't take it off even in the summer! Very happy with my purchase.

ORS Racks Direct gets 5 Stars! Great Price! Fast Shipping! Great Service! I Purchased the Thule 5401 Snowcat for transporting fishing rods and reels for surf and boat fishing. ORS Crew Rocks! Fit my Mitsubishi Montero Sport perfectly! Only reason not 5 stars on review is the included Thule Racks install directions, sorry I don't measure in mm.

ORS Crew ansers - No, the Snow Cat won't work on the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox side rails. You will need to first install the Thule 45050 Crossroad car rack crossbars system to the side rails. You can then attach the Thule 91725, 92726, 92725 or 92724 ski-snowboard carriers to the 45050 Crossroad cross bars. Locks are all included.

Daryl asks - Will this fit the 2008 Ford Taurus X side rails?

ORS Crew answers - No, the SnowCat is not compatible with your 2008 Ford Taurus X side rails. You will first need to install a base rack system such as the Thule 45058 Crossroad roof rack to the side rails. This will provide the cross bars to then enable you to connect the Thule 91726, 91725 or 91724 ski racks.

ORS Crew answers - No, the Thule 5401 Snowcat will not work on your 2009 GMC Acadia. However, the Thule 91726 Universal Pull Top and Thule 91724 / 91725 Universal Flat Top ski-snowboard carriers will attach directly to the Acadia factory rack cross bars.

Ken asks - I'm looking for a roof rack to carry fishing rods and reels, at least 6 rods and reels, must be lockable for a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport with factory roof side rails. Will the Thule 5401 Snowcat do the job?

ORS Crew answers - You are right on. Fits the '01 Mitsubishi Montero Sport side rails perfectly and will serve as an outstanding fishing rod carrier for 6 rods and more. While not widely known, using ski racks as a fishing rod rack is a superb solution, and you get a ski & snowboard carrier for use in the winter months too!

Luke asks - I want to get the Thule SnowCat 5401 but I'm not sure if it will fit on my 2011 Toyota 4runner side rails. Any help would be appreciated.

ORS Crew answers - Unfortunately the 5401 SnowCat is not compatible with your 2011 Toyota 4Runner. Instead you will first need to attach the general-purpose Thule 450 Crossroad base rack system (or the Thule 45058 Crossroad system - exactly the same as the regular 450 Crossroad but also includes locks - so it is a better deal) to the factory side rails. You can then attach any other Thule ski racks directly to the 450 Crossroad or 45058 Crossroad cross bars.

FJ asks - Will the 5401 work as a 2008 Subaru Tribeca ski rack?

ORS Crew answers - No, unfortunately the SnowCat is not compatible with the 2008 Subaru Tribeca. Thule Racks recommendation is to first install the Thule 45058 CrossRoad roof rack cross rails system. You can then attach the Thule 92726, 92725, 9274 or 91715 to the 45058 base rack cross rails (also called cross bars).

ZK asks - Does the Thule 5401 SnowCat ski rack fit the Honda Pilot model year 2004 with the side racks or side rails whatever they are called?

ORS Crew answers - Yes this is a confirmed and sanctioned fit, a superb choice for a 2004 Honda Pilot ski rack and easily attaches to the factory side rails.

ORS Crew answers - Unfortunately the 5401 won't work on the 2011 GMC Terrain factory side rails. You will need to install the Thule 45050 Crossroad roof rack system to the side rails. You can then attach the Thule 91725, 92726, 92725 or 92724 ski-snowboard carriers to the 45050 Crossroad cross bars. Locks are also included with all components.

ORS Crew answers - The 5400 Snow Cat was the 1st generation carrier and was discontinued several years ago, replaced by the current 5401 model. The 5401 features improved universal compatibility with many more vehicles, compared to the earlier 5400 version. The hardware is also easier to use for hassle-free installation and everyday use when loading and unloading skis and snowboards. Another advancement is more space for carrying even the fattest of today's wide shape skis and snowboards. The 5401 SnowCat is a Thule Racks confirmed and sanctioned fit, serving as a superb 2012 Nissan Rogue ski-snowboard carrier that mounts to the '12 Nissan Rogue factory side rails. The 5400 is not compatible.
