The Thule 667ES Excursion Roof Box is the shortest model available in Thule Racks very popular classic Time Travel series of car roof boxes. The Thule 669ES Excursion is ideal for cars with shorter roof lines or for anyone that does not need a cargo carrier for long items (this model is not long enough to carry skis and snowboards). An inexpensive and cheap roof box alternative to the more premium models available. Offers classic good cargo box looks, along with easy installation and functionality. ORS Racks Direct Crew says - The Thule Time Travel series car roof boxes (669ES Mountaineer / 667ES Excursion / 668ES Frontier) have a good range of adjustment to fit most distances between the front roof rack crossbar and the rear roof rack cross bar (referred to as crossbar spread). In fact the Mountaineer fits any crossbars with a spread as short as 23-5/8" inches and as long as 34", Excursion fits any crossbars with a spread as short as 23-5/8" inches and as long as 31" and Frontier fits any crossbars with a spread as short as 23-5/8" inches and as long as 32-1/16".
Josh asks - What is the maximum weight of cargo you can carry?
ORS Racks Direct crew answers - Thule Racks guidelines state that the maximum allowable gear load weight for this box is 110 lbs.
Rudy asks - We are looking for a cargo box for our 2007 Honda CR-V (with factory installed roof rack). We're considering the Thule 667ES Excursion. Can you tell us if we would be able to completely open the hatchback while it is mounted? We keep hearing/reading that opening the hatchback of a 2007 Honda CR-V is a problem with the longer cargo boxes. Are there other boxes that you would recommend for this vehicle?
ORS Crew answers - Yes the 667ES is an absolutely ideal choice for a 07 Honda CRV cargo roof box. You'll be able to open the rear hatch door completely without contacting the roof box. Other similar options are the Thule 603 Ascent and Yakima RocketBox 15s. You can actually go longer and still allow the rear hatch to open fully when using the Thule 686XT Atlantis and Thule 604 Ascent.
Kenneth asks - OK look im not rich, just want a simple answer to my question before I spend money on the Thule 667ES Excursion ES. Is there much danger in my stuff getting wet while running down the interstate and run into a downpour, in other words if it rains on it all day going down the road will it keep water out?
ORS Crew answers - Great question. In fact for waterproof protection you can't beat hard-shell plastic cargo boxes. They deliver total waterproof protection, ensuring all your cargo box contents stay dry no matter what wet conditions you may encounter on the road.
Kevin asks - Can you tell me if the Thule Excursion ES cargo box will fit my factory roof rack on the 2009 Chevrolet Equinox, and will I be able to open the rear hatch with it on? Also are there any other Thule cargo boxes that will also work on the 2009 Chevy Equinox factory roofrack crossbars and also not be in the way when opening the rear hatch?
ORS Crew answers - Yes the Excursion is an ideal match for use as a 2009 Chevy Equinox cargo box. It quickly mounts directly to the factory rack crossbars and also will not interfere with the Chevrolet Equinox rear hatch door opening fully. Other cargo boxes that will also work and not interfere with the rear hatch are the Atlantis 1200, Atlantis 1600, Ascent 1500, Ascent 1600 and 682 SideKick roof box models.
Dee asks - I'm looking for a cargo box for my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica (with factory installed roof rack). I'm considering the Thule 667ES Excursion. Will this fit my SUV? Are there other Thule boxes that you would recommend for this vehicle?
ORS Crew answers - Yes the 667ES Excursion is a confirmed fit for use as a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica cargo box and mounts to the factory rack crossbars. You will also be able to open the rear hatch door fully without hitting the roof box. Other models to consider, and will all also allow you to open the rear hatch completely, are the Thule Atlantis 1800, Atlantis 1600, Ascent 1600 and Ascent 1500 roof boxes.
Dave M. asks - I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 2010 and I am looking for a roof carrier for some luggage in a relatively short box. I have a factory installed roof rack but also have a Thule rack which I can install if need be. My main concern is will the 667es excursion Thule roof box block my satellite antenna signal? Can it be installed far enough foward so as not to block the signal?
ORS Crew answers - All set. This is a Thule Racks confirmed and sanctioned fit. The Thule 667ES Excursion box is an excellent choice for a cargo box on the 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee factory rack cross rails (no need for installing the aftermarket base rack cross rails system) and you can position it forward so it doesn't interfere with the satellite antenna signal.

At order checkout we will obtain your vehicle year/make/model info to ensure this cargo carrier is compatible.
We offer 2 fulfillment options for cargo boxes:
1) Shipment by freight to residential/commercial addresses
2) In-store pickup.

PLEASE NOTE: An additional freight charge of $50.00 will be added to your order as this item cannot be shipped via UPS/Fed Ex due to its oversize dimensions and must be shipped via freight & we ask that you please allow up to 2-3 weeks for delivery of this item. For your convenience this item ships directly to both residential and commercial business addresses, please supply either a residential or commercial business address for delivery at checkout. Please inspect your Cargo/Gear Box before signing and accepting delivery (this means removal from the cardboard carton and inspection for any visible damage as well as function of hinges/lid supports/locks) from freight company as ORS Racks Direct cannot accept returns or damage claims of these items after delivery has been accepted by the customer. If the box is damaged and unacceptable please refuse delivery with the LTL Freight company and contact us for resolution.
