The 38" medium Thule 871XT Fairing features an all-new redesign and updated mounting hardware for even quicker installation plus a very clean and sleek connection with both types of Thule Racks base rack load bar styles -- the classic square bars and the european styled elliptical Rapid Aero load bars. The Thule 871XT fairing replaces the Thule 871 with a better and more secure fit on both the square and Rapid Aero Thule bars. Great Mileage, Durable With Minimal Noise

I have the new Thule Rapid Areo load bars and this fairing quickly assembled and fits great. It's located above the sunroof towards the back but still allows full operation of that. One concern I had about the racks was a possible drop in mileage but after several hundred miles have not noticed any appreciable change when I'm not loaded with bikes or other equipment. Overall its very stylish and fits very well.

This is an excellent product. Easy to mount if you have the correct bars. Does not mount to OEM factory bars out of the box so you will have to make a modification. I was able to make it work with out cutting anything. Driving on the road in Germany at 100mph it still stays on the vehicle.

(PLEASE NOTE: This review also includes the Thule 45050 Crossroad roof rack kit and Thule 517 Peloton roof bike rack). I purchased this system with the assistance of the staff at ORS. Their recommendation was spot-on. Set-up was easy. The roof rack is extremely stable at high speed. The wind fairing quieted the howling generated by air turbulence through the rack...even at high speed, sound is 90-95% muted. The extra money I saved by not opting for the aero bar system was used to buy the fairing. I believe this was an excellent option since many people with aero bars still need the fairing. I enjoy the look of the entire system...very professional! In all, again, I am extremely pleased with the entire experience. Two thumbs up for ORS Racks Direct!
Great Looks and Function

Installs easily after you stop the rubber stoppers from popping off while clipping to the attachment points. Other then that no issues. Also installed with roof rack system, so couldn't tell if it quiets wind noise without the fairing.

Installs in just a few minutes, fits the cross bar great. I suppose it helps with wind noise, but I installed the deflector at the same time as the rack system. It definitely finishes up the look of the system and makes it look a lot better!

ORS Crew explains - Thule rack fairings are only compatible with the Thule Racks square load bars and elliptical Thule Rapid Aero load bars. For factory rack cross bars you'll want to go with an Inno Racks Fairing, which work great on factory racks.
WiN asks - I see that it fits the Rapid Aero bars which have the t-slot so I am hoping that this would also fit on oem votex roof racks with the t-slot as well?
ORS Crew answers - Thule fairings don't fit Votex rack crossbars unfortunately, since Votex bars have a bit different dimension than the Thule Rapid Aero load bars so the fairing mounting hardware won't fit. We suggest using the Inno fairing instead.
Tommy B. asks - I want to buy a wind faring, and I know the Inno Racks faring is compatible with the OEM bars on my Nissan Juke. But I really like the look of the Thule model. Wondering if there is some flexibility to fit with my OEM bars. They really resemble the look of the Thule Rapid Aero bars, but the width is 2" comparing to the Rapid Aero bar of 3". The circumference is around 6". So if the bars have to be exactly the same shape and dimension with the Rapid Aero bar then I dont think it will fit. But wanted to doublecheck.
ORS Crew answers - Can’t give a 100% guarantee on correct answer, but we are 99.9% sure the Thule fairing will not work, the bracket is so specific to clip into the channel and then run under the Aero bar that it will pretty much not fit anything else or any other factory bar. We've tried this on many various bars that look similar to the Aero bars, but every time it fails to work. We highly recommend going with the Inno fairing instead.
