For everything you need to easily load and safely carry a kayak at a great price look no further than the all new Thule 884 Roll Model Kayak Rack. To load a kayak, simply place one end of kayak on the integrated rear rollers and roll the kayak forward. The roller extends the boat loading point to help prevent boat-to-vehicle contact while centering the kayak and guiding it onto the rear set of Hydro-Glide kayak saddles and into the front set of Set-to-Go kayak saddles. Rear saddles automatically catch the boat as it rolls forward on the rollers and effortlessly guides the kayak onto the front saddles.
Once in place, all four points of padded saddle support conform to the hull for added protection. Rear Hydro-Glide kayak saddles automatically pivot for snug contact on any style kayak (saddles are felt lined for low-friction, smooth loading as well). Front Set-to-Go kayak saddles fully adjust for an ideal grip on any kayak surface and shape. This kayak rack with roller system also includes all rack straps and kayak straps to safely transport one kayak, including 2 load straps with padded buckles and 2 ratcheting bow & stern tie-downs. The Thule 884 Roll Model kayak rack complete system is compatible with Thule Racks and Inno Racks base rack system square load bars only. Not compatible with factory rack crossbars or Yakima Racks roundbars.

Great Solution for Loading A Kayak Easily

I use the Roll Model on my Toyota HighLander that has a Thule 450 Crossroad roofrack on the siderails. The Roll Model rear roller and all the kayak saddles mounted onto the 450 Crossroad base rack load bars easily without any hassles. I really like how the front of my kayak glides so smoothly right onto the kayak saddles. All I have to do is lift the front of the kayak onto the roller, so nice to not have to lift the whole boat onto the roofrack anymore! I found that the front of my kayak does touch the rear of the Highlander slightly when I first begin rolling the kayak. This is because the 450 Crossroad roof rack crossbars are not able to be positioned far enough back on the roof top in order for the boat to totally clear the Toyota Highlander rear roof. I immediately ordered the Thule 854 Water Slide pad to solve this problem. I highly recommend getting the Thule WaterSlide pad. This is a simple solution to eliminate any contact between the kayak and the car. You can also load the front of the boat right onto the Water Slide pad and let it rest while you get in position at the back of the kayak to slide it up onto the rollers and kayak saddles. The saddles on the Roll Model fit the kayak perfectly so there is no movement whatsoever. This kayak rack and roller system is perfect for anyone that wants an easy way to load a kayak onto their Thule car roofrack.
