Thule Racks has done it again...a platform-style hitch mount bike rack full of features but low in price! The Thule 990XT DoubleTrack Hitch Bike Rack represents the latest in platform bike rack engineering with Thule Racks Ratcheting Quick Load (RQL) technology so you can get your bicycles loaded quickly and effortlessly. Simply slide each cradle arm down onto each bike frame and clamp each bike wheel inside the bike tray wheel holders and you are ready to roll.
Includes Thule Stinger Swinger so the 990XT Thule DoubleTrack fits both 1-1/4" & 2" receiver hitches right out of the box, no additional adapters necessary. The fully adjustable, independent bike tray wheel holders allow for the transport of virtually any shape, size, height or length bicycles (including 29ers, freeride & downhill bikes, even bicycles with fenders) and no bike seat to handlebar interference when loading 2 bicycles. Bike trays accommodate virtually all tire widths, from skinny 1" road tires to fat 3" mountain bike tires. Thule 990XT Double Track completely folds up and out of the way when not in use, offering great rear-end clearance when pulling into garage, parking spaces etc. The 990XT replaces the discontinued, older model 990 DoubleTrack and now includes full system security! The Thule STL2 Snug-Tite Lock is included to lock the 990XT DoubleTrack to the receiver hitch, and a 2-pack of Thule Locks is included to lock each bike to the rack.

This is a great rack. It's easy to lift the bikes and place them into the wheel wells--Very secure. No parts to damage a bike, and any size, shape bike will fit. NO swinging handlebars or spinning wheels while traveling. Be sure to get the locks for this rack.

I recently installed this rack, and it is my first bike rack - and certainly my last. I am a small-statured woman and it is so easy to get the bikes off and on. I was so tired of taking the tire off and on to put in my hatchback, and there are no hatch racks to fit my car. This is a great product, and worth every penny!

Have had this bike rack for about a month now and love it! It was easy to install. Bikes go on and off very quickly/effortlessly. The rack folds away nicely when not in use. The bike locks installed very easily. Thanks ORS Racks Direct for making my bike transportation needs simple!

Best bike rack you could buy! I researched bike racks for several weeks and after careful consideration I choose the Tule 990. Its durable and designed to easily load and unload your bikes. Don't waste your money elsewhere.

Bought the Thule 990 DoubleTrack last month to mount to my RAV 4 via the trailer hitch. I can’t imagine an easier to use rack. Seriously, you just drop the bike onto the tray, push the padded hook down onto the frame, fasten the wheel straps, and voila, you’re done. I used to have a hitch rack with the support arms that you had to fish through the frame and then strap the frame down in a hundred places. Those days are gone, and I don’t miss them. If you are looking for a hitch rack and you want one that is easy to use and bomb proof, go with the doubletrack!!

I have been using the Tule 990 Double Track all year. It has been a delight. At the end of a long ride, when you’re totally spent, the last thing you want to do is have to struggle to load your bike onto a rack. My arms are usually so tired that I can’t lift them over my head, let alone lift them over my head while grasping my bike. All you gotta do to load the bikes into the Doubletack is lift is a few feet off the ground into the tray and then push a padded hook down. Very little energy required. When I get to the bar, for a post ride brewski, I make sure to lock the arms down so my bike doesn’t walk away on me. The other features are nice, like the fold up feature, but what makes me smile is just how effortless it is to load and unload the bikes

SOLIS asks - Does this rack tilt down while the bikes are loaded on it, so to access the glass gate of an SUV?
ORS Crew answers - No, the 990XT will not allow you to tilt the rack away with the bikes on. In the Thule platform bike rack category the Thule 916XTR (for 2" hitches) and Thule 917XTR (for 1-1/4" hitches) will allow you to tilt the entire hitch rack down for access to the rear of your SUV and opening the glass gate.
