The 9001 /9002 Thule Raceway trunk bike racks use Sure-Tight high strength cable attachments for superior stable rack hold, much better than straps. Excellent Efficient and Attractive

Firm, stable and aesthetically well designed rack. Easy to put on, take off and adjust. Only thing to watch is auto wipers will jam - only causing temporary problem when it's affixed to a rear hatchback window. This is my third THULE rack purchased and it's the best designed. Glad to have spent hard earned money for this beauty.

This is my 3rd trunk mounted bike rack. This is by far the best trunk rack out there. (I have done lots of research) the only rack that I know of that locks down to the trunk lid, and a seperate lock to secure the bikes from theft. When installed properly, the bike rack is very secure and stable, unlike my other 2 that I have tried throughout the earlier years. Very durable and will last me a long time. This is the only trunk mounted bike rack that I recommend to my friends. THULE DID THEIR HOME-WORK ON THIS RACK!

Very high quality. It was very simple to install. The arms fold down out of the way and put back up with one simple lever. I'm confident my bikes are secure on this rack. The fit on my car was perfect.

I love this rack ... I'm able to take my mountain bike with the top down and not scratch the car. I am able to cinch down the bike and rack so there is no movement. The rack accepts my very oddly shaped frame without an adapter. Only improvement I can see is that a bike only locks on the furthest out position. Would be nice if could also lock a single bike on the closest position.

This is an excellent bike rack. It is a bit on the heavy side, but still easy to move. It adjusts to a wide variety of sedans and suvs. It is very easy to place and then lock into place. The locking mechanism works great. On a 500 mile trip I did not have to adjust it once. The rack locks so that it cannot be removed from the trunk. It also locks the outside bike so that the bike or bikes cannot be taken. I did put an extra piece of rubber on the upper hooks so as not to scratch the trunk. This is an excellent rack that I highly recommend. It can be folded flat for storage.

From opening the box to putting it on my car it took only 30 minutes. The rack comes pre-assembled and all I had to do was unfold it, lock the arms and secure the straps to my trunk. The directions even break it down to settings on individual vehicles :D My mountain bike has a wider frame and I still have about 6" of space between it and the car. With the front wheel tied it isn't going anywhere. Just make sure you get the rubber straps TIGHT or the bike will bounce out of them on a good pothole. No complaints here :) ORS Racks Direct did a good job of shipping too and have great customer service.

Spent a lot of time mulling over whether we should install a hitch; use roof racks or get this item. Video reviews of all three options on "you tube" and other sites made up our minds. Went to REI to pick up the 9002, but was told it was not in stock and was still in production and could not be back ordered. Found ORS online that same day, ordered it and it arrived the very next day. It comes assembled, which is great. It is a bit heavy. I am a 5'5" fifty-one year old female, and it is a little heavy for me, but I can manage it. It is nicer to have another person helping. It still beats lifting the bikes on to the top of the car, which we did with my old Subaru. I love the cable mechanism. I love not having to pull straps closed and not having to constantly tighten the straps, which we did with the old trunk rack on my old Camry. The 9002 is neat and tidy and holds firmly. It is an excellent and cheaper alternative to the hitch racks. It fits nicely on my Subaru, but it does block the license plate in the down position. If you have a woman's bike, you should also order a bike top tube adapter. I had to run out to a sporting goods store the day after I got the rack to buy the adapters for the bikes. Otherwise, you won't be able to put the bikes on the rack level. (I bought the "Saris bike beam"). The only issue I am having with the rack is that I am having a diffcult time turning the key to lock and unlock it. I wonder if anyone else has this problem or if it is just the one I have. I am going to try to lube it up tomorrow with WD-40 to see if that helps. As it is, I had to use a pair of pliers to unlock it. If this were not an issue, I would have given it five stars.

Lynn K. asks - How would I know what the appropriate FitDial setting is supposed to be positioned at for my specific car.
ORS Crew answers - Great question. The installation instructions manual that comes included (also see link above for the pdf file of the instructions) includes a complete list of all vehicles and the correct FitDial setting for each specific car.
Ian Jacobsen asks - Will the 9002 Raceway fit on a 2010 Mazda 3 Sport GT. Will the rack's tension cables put too much pressure on the rear spoiler.
ORS Crew answers - It fits the 2010 Mazda 3 Sport GT and the upper cables fit nicely over the rear hatch spoiler without overloading the spoiler with too much pressure or weight.
Peter N. asks - Using the Thule fit guide it looks like this can't be used as a 2007 Acura MDX trunk bike rack, is there an issue?
ORS Crew answers - The 2007 Acura MDX is unable to support the weight of the carrier and bikes due to the small rear spoiler located at the top of the hatch door/back edge of the rooftop. This is where the straps would need to go, and if you tried to support the weight of the bikes and carrier along this point the system would fail. This is the same issue for any trunk rack from any manufacturer. Therefore we recommend a hitch bike rack, if you have a rear hitch receiver installed (it's also an easy process to have a trailer hitch installed on a Acura MDX at any local vehicle accessory dealer. Your local Acura dealer could point you in the right direction). A roof bike rack system is another good option, you'll need to first install a multi-purpose base rack (Thule 460 Podium and Yakima Q Towers are both excellent choices). You can then attach any roof bike rack to the roof rack cross bars).
