The Thule Xadapt 3 Kit is an adapter kit that includes a set of eight extra-long carriage bolts that makes it possible for Thule kayak racks to mount to TracRac truck rack-van rack crossbars etc. The Thule Xadapt 3 Kit is also for attaching these gear carriers to any very large diameter / extra thick factory rack cross bars. The current list of Thule kayak carriers that require the Thule Xadapt 3 Kit when used on the Thule PRO Series and Trac Rac truck racks and van racks includes 887XT Slipstream, 835PRO Hull-a-Port, 835XTR Hull-a-Port, 830 Stacker, 878XT Set-to-Go, 875XT Hydro-Glide, 883 Glide & Set, 881 Top Deck and 839 Get-a-Grip paddle/mast holder. The Thule 593 Wheel-On bike wheel holder and Thule 554XT Hang-Two surfboard rack also require the Xadapt3 kit. The Thule 884 Roll Model, 877XT Rollercoaster kayak rack and Thule 579XT canoe rack are NOT compatible with Thule PRO Series and Trac Rac truck racks and van racks. The Thule Xadapt3 adapters includes a set of eight 80mm extra-long carriage bolts for connecting the Thule 593 Wheel-On wheel holder, Thule 554XT Hang-Two surfboard rack and most Thule kayak racks (see complete list above) to all Thule PRO Series and TracRac van rack bars & truck rack bars. Also for attaching these gear carriers to any very large diameter / extra thick factory rack cross bars.
