The TracRac G2 Truck Rack Sliding Track Rack System is proudly made in the U.S.A. and the second generation of the original aluminum sliding truck rack system. Truly a super-duty commercial / utility grade, patented powder-coated aluminum truck rack designed to fit just about any pickup truck on the market today! Because it's an aluminum pickup truck rack system it won't ever rust and is both lightweight (80 lbs.) and mighty strong - the TracRac G2 can carry loads up to 1,250 lbs! Best of all, the Trac Rac G2 is the only pick up truck rack system that slides for a perfect fit no matter what the load is - ladders, pipes, lumber / construction materials, canoe, kayak or whatever! The included TracRac G2 base rails easily attach to the truck bed rail stake pockets without any drilling or bolting and actually reinforces your truck frame. The included four upright towers and two cross bars then slide along the base rails and position the cross bars any distance apart from each other to perfectly suit your cargo transport needs. Several optional accessories available (sold separately; see accessory add-ons below). The TracRac G2 Overhead Rack (4 Towers & 2 Crossbars) and pair of Base Rails are available in specific sizes and lengths to match your truck model truckbed perfectly. The TracRac G2 includes all components that are necessary for a complete pickup truckbed rack system:
- two (2) black anodized aluminum Base Rail Sliding Rails (specific to your vehicle; see ordering notes below)
- four (4) Expansion Block Stake Pocket Mounts
- four (4) dual powder-coated aluminum heavy-duty Upright Towers
- two (2) dual powder-coated aluminum heavy-duty Cross Bars with End Caps
- four (4) Quick Release Clamping Knobs
- four (4) Sliding Aluminum HD Load Stop/Tie Downs with Quick Release Clamping Knobs (all-purpose attachment for carrying ladders, lumber, piping, canoe etc.)
- four (4) Aluminum Arc Side Cleats (for additional versatile tie-down configurations)

Awesome truck rack. Fits my 2009 Ford F-150 truck bed perfectly. I find it to be the ultimate combination work rack / sport rack and i use it for work during the week (carrying lumber, ladders etc) and then on the weekends I often use it to carry the canoe or kayaks (using the TracRack kayak carriers to carry kayaks and the included LoadStop tie-downs for hauling the canoe). Looks really sporty on my pickup truck too. I really like how I can easily slide the rear towers forward against the back of the cab in a stored position when I'm not using it. I also bought the TracRac toolbox. Really like the Trac Rac tool box too. The truck rack and box glide very smoothly on the bed rails.

The TracRac is a great product. Very sturdy, rugged and well built. User-friendly and easy to install without any hassles. The sliding track rack system is ingenious. I highly recommend this product to any pickup truck owners looked for a truckbed truck rack.

Mark J. asks - What's the overall height of the TracRac G2 sliding rack? I'd like to know the overall height the rack would extend up from the truck bed rails to the top of the cross bar. I will be installing it on a 2011 Ford F150. I want to be sure it will be tall enough to haul my canoe. When upside down the canoe's bow and stern are lower and I don't want it to interfere with the truck cab.
ORS Crew answers - For each of the three Overhead Rack models the height from the base to the top of the crossbar is: 42000-01 = 23.27 inches / 42000-02 = 23.27 inches / 42000-03 = 27.03 inches. You will also gain a little over an inch with the Overhead Rack mounted to the Base Rails (the Base Rails have a total height of 1.9 inches.) For your 2011 Ford F150 you will be using the 42000-02 Overhead Rack model.

ORS Crew answers - You bet. This is a great choice for the 2008 Chevy 1500 pickup truck bed.
Andrew asks - I just purchased a 2011 Ford F150 Fx4, and I had a REV tonneau cover put on it. I want to carry four 13 foot kayaks. I was wondering if the TracRac base rail sliders would fit on the bed rails without having to take the REV tonneau cover off, it is inset and flush with the top of the bed and doesn't take up any room on the truck rails. This would be very convienent if this setup worked.
ORS Crew answers - We checked out that REV tonneau cover set up. You should be totally good to go with the sliding TracRac truck rack on the 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck bed rails, as indeed it looks like the tonneau will not obstruct the TracRac base rails.
Rob asks - I would like to carry 4 12 foot kayaks on a Track Rack system, but with individual j-cradle carriers for each kayak... I don't like the Kayak Stacker system where one kayak is up against another... is this feasible to use j-cradles on TracRac bars? If so can you suggest what would work! I like the Thule 835XTR and 835PRO models. Would I need to order the Thule extended bolts to use the Thule attachments on the cross bars?
ORS Crew answers - Great questions. You will have a great set up when going with either the Thule 835XTR Hull-Port or Thule 835PRO Hull-Port kayak cradles. Plenty of room on the TracRac crossbars for all 4 carriers. And yes, you will want to use a set of Thule Xadapt 3 Kits (80mm extra-long bolts) with each 835PRO or 835XTR kayak carrier to properly mount to the TracRac cross bars.
Jessica H. asks - Will Yakima Racks Universal Mighty Mounts fit on TracRac truck rack crossbars?
ORS Crew answers - We had to do some physical testing for this. Turns out the Yakima Universal Mighty Mounts do fit the Trac Rac truck rack bars, but just barely! Only could be tightened to 2 or 3 threads of the bolt. Therefore we would not recommend using the Universal MightyMounts on the TracRac truck rack cross bars. A good alternative are the Malone TracRac adapters for use with certain model Malone kayak racks. We highly recommend this solution for the TracRac crossbars. Also, many Thule kayak carriers will fit the TracRac truck rack crossb ars using the Thule Xadapt 3 long bolts kit.
ChrisinMN says - Regarding the MightyMounts on the TracRac truck rack cross bars, I sourced longer bolts from local hardware store and the Yakima Universal Mighty Mounts work fine on the Trac Rac cross bars.
ORS Crew says - Yes it is possible to try and source new longer bolts from a local hardware store, however beware this has not been properly long term tested by Yakima Racks or ORS Racks Direct. Also, doing so will void the Yakima Life Time Warranty on the MightyMounts.
Randy F. asks - What is the maximum working width on the crossbars on the G2? Would you recommend it for a 200lb. aluminum boat?
ORS Crew answers - The maximum usable width of the crossbars are 69.5” for the Full-Size G2 model and 64" for the Compact G2 model. No problem whatsover with transporting the 200 lb aluminum boat.
