The Yakima Sidewinder Tandem Bike Racks (8002071) make loading your tandem bike easy as pie! Innovative swing-out skewer arm design makes it effortless for one person to load/unload the bicycle. This fork mount tandem carrier connects directly to Yakima base rack round cross bars, Inno Roof Rack crossbars and Thule square load bars. Not compatible with factory car rack crossbars. Now includes the same premium lockable skewer used on the Yakima SprocketRocket bike rack! We highly recommend using a Yakima lock (not included; see accessory add-ons below) to secure the tandem bicycle to the carrier.

Best Tandem Rack Out There

The Sidewinder is a great tandem rack. Tandems are big and heavy and hard to load onto the roof and this Sidewinder makes easy work of it. It is also very sturdy which was important to me when I was researching tandem racks. The bike is also very stable when mounted in the rack and it can be locked. I would say that this the best tandem bike rack out there.
An Awesome Tandem Bike Rack

We have used our Sidewinder rack many times and it has been awesome. We have a Subaru Outback and believe it or not, we have full access to the rear hatch, even when the bike is mounted! Getting the bike in and out of the rack is easy thanks to the pivoting design. The ruggedness of the rack gives us confidence that our $3000 bike is safe and secure when we are driving as well as when we are parked. We feel great about this purchase. Thanks!!!
