Great Flexibility

I really like the FatCat 6, it was easy to install and I feel comfortable knowing that no one can remove this accessory from my rack without my Yakima key. I've loaded 4 boards on one occasion and 2 boards and 2 ski's another. It works great and didn't have any problems loading this items in the accessory. I also like the option of raising the one end of the rack. It assured that I won't scratch up the roof of my new car and although i probably didn't really need it I would have rather spent the extra money than ended up with blemishes on the roof of my car. Great product overall, I highly recommend it.

We have a big family and have a lot of skis to carry and needed a rack that was easy to use and at the same time secure. So far, we have had no problems with this great rack. Unlike other ski racks we've had prior, you don't have to struggle to close the thing when its loaded with skis. With our older model, you literally had to hang from the thing to close it when it was loaded. Not so with the Fat Cat. The release button makes opening the rack just as easy. We are very pleased with this purchase and would certainly recommend it anyone.

I just used my new Yakima Fat Cat 6 for the first time and it was awesome. The top half is solid and is so easy to open and close. It easily carries 6 pairs of skis also locks very easily. In my opinion, there is no better rack out there. I definitely look forward to many years of service from this rack!

Less whistling than my previous Yakima rack from the 1990's. Clasp construction was plastic so I felt better locking it for fear of it coming loose on the freeway thus the 4 star rating

Mike asks - I just installed my new FatCat6. Without skis in it, it locks. When I put skis in it, it won't lock. Why?
ORS Crew answers - Sounds like you may need to pull the top down a bit more. Sometimes the lock gets hard to turn under too much tension. Pull down on the top while turning the lock. If this doesn't work please call us and we can try and troubleshoot further.
Nick T. asks - Is there a way to mount the Fat Cat 6 to a Whispbar S16 using the track channel on the Whispbar crossbars rather than the universal mounts that wrap around the bars?
ORS Crew answers - There is currently no adapter available for attaching Yakima ski racks flush to Whispbar crossbars. However, we highly recommend the Thule 92725 and the Thule 91725 ski-snowboard racks in combination with the Thule Ski Rack Flush Mount Kit.
