I just purchased the Yakima Fat Cat 4 for my Ford Explorer and I love it. I had read about it in Men’s Journal, who raved about it, and took their word that it would be a good rack for my gear. I also liked it because of how cool it looked in the photographs. Certainly a cool, new look for a ski carrier. It installed directly and easily to my factory racks and one of the best things about it is the huge red button which makes opening the rack super easy, even with mittens on. This rack looks great and works great and I would recommend it.

I wanted a killer rack for my boards and I found one. The Yakima Fat Cat 4 looks cool, is simple to use, even for skiers, (Ha!) and it is totally rugged. The thing that is unique most of all is the low profile look. When the thing isn't loaded, you can't see the gaskets and that is cool. The lifter that it comes with is a real nice touch. Your bindings don't get crushed against the roof. By far the best snowboard rack out there.
