Great Price, Easy to Install and Quality
this Yakima ForkLift bike rack review by Avid Cyclist in Ohio
vehicle year/make/model: 2000 Subaru Legacy wagon
item(s) transported: road and mountain bikes
You can get Yakima Racks high quality at a great price. Quick and easy installation for a secure bike rack to confidently hold my road or mountain bike. It fit my Subaru Legacy factory rack crossbars as advertised. If you are considering this rack, consider no longer, just order it and you won't be disappointed.
Excellent for Factory Crossbars

vehicle year/make/model: 2008 Toyota Highlander
item(s) transported: mountain and road bikes
I bought this product for use with my 2008 Toyota Highlander and have found it to be excellent. The installation of the product was quick and easy, taking less than 10 minutes the first time and now less than 5 minutes. When the bike is mounted in place it is secure and I feel safe it is in place. I have reached speeds of 70MPH with the bike on top and could not even tell it wat there. The SKS lock cores help as a deterrent to theft. I do not feel the SKS locks are enough to completly keep the bike safe, but feel it will be a deterrent if I need to stop some where for a short time. The rack is stylish and looks good on my automoibile. If you have factory racks I highly recommend this product.
I am Very Pleased!
this Yakima Fork Lift review by Mike in Maryland
I just purchased Yakima Rail Grabs, Fork Lift, Wheel Fork, and several components. The entire experience from beginning to end was excellent. ORS Racks Direct customer service was top notch (I had even e-mailed with a question and received a call with the answer within the hour - amazing!). Everything was shipped immediately and showed up as requested. I’m very pleased - this is my first purchase through these guys and certainly will not be the last.
Best solution for factory racks
this Yakima Fork Lift review by PaddlesUp
vehicle year/make/model: 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX
item(s) transported: road bikes and mountain bikes
This rack fits better than the factory bike rack for my factory crossbars. The build quality is fantastic and the bikes feel rock solid on it. The ratcheting rear-wheel strap is a great added touch. Installation was a snap. The only flaw I see with this this product is the rear wheel tray. In order to look different from other racks, the rear tire sits on a small tray that slides along the rack. You need a third hand to position the tray while you have the bike in your hands. Other than that, fantastic product!
Works on Saris Roof Rack!!!
this Yakima ForkLift review by ADavis
vehicle(s): 1995 Saturn SL1
item(s) transported: mountain bike
I bought this to transport my bike on a regular basis due to previous rack being too narrow to hold an extra wide mountain bike tire. After seeing that it is factory rack compatible, I had to give it a try on a Saris roof rack. Although it seems bulky, it is exactly what I was looking for especially the features. What is great about this rack is that it locks the bike and the tray to the roof rack which is a big plus in purchasing it. The ORS Racks Direct customer service was wonderful in letting me know that this rack would fit a wide tire since mine are 2.5 inches wide. The only minor issue I have is that the rear wheel strap slides back and forth while driving and braking without a bike attached, but it is a minor issue that I can live with. I am very satisfied with it.
Works Awesome On My Factory Rack
this Yakima ForkLift review by highroadMT
I like Yakima Racks a lot, so I was very psyched to find out they finally came out with a roof mount bike rack that works on factory racks. In the past you always needed to have a Yakima base roofrack system with Yakima round bars to attach any of their fork mount bike racks. That was an expensive solution considering all the other bike rack companies out there that already offer factory rack fork mount bike rack options. The Fork Lift looks really nice on my Nissan Pathfinder factory rack and the installation couldn't be simpler. The instructions were easy to follow, and all I had to do was wrap the fork block head claw around the front crossbar and then tighten the knob to secure it. The rear clamp was easy to tighten on the rear crossbar too. I really love the quick release skewer. Instead of having to use 2 hands to adjust both sides of the skewer like normal, you just turn the red knob to tighten once and never have to fool around with it again. It's so quick to load my bike. Definitely recommend using a lock in the skewer. This takes advantage of the cool feature that both locks the bike and the ForkLift bike rack to the roofrack crossbars. This is an awesome option for anyone that wants to use a fork mount bike rack on a factory car rack.
So Fast, It Allows Me More Time to Ride!
this Yakima Fork Lift review by Brad Furgusen
This is by far the best fork mount bike rack I've ever owned. I chose it specifially because it works on factory racks. But the quality of the Fork Lift bike carrier is very impressive. The locking skewer has an amazing design. I can't believe how easy it is to adjust and get my bike on and secured. More time to ride!
Nice Rack/Won't fit some disk brakes
this Yakima Fork Lift review by Colson
Vehicle(s): 2003 VW Passat W8 with Yakama Bars & 1997 Subaru Outback factory rack
Items Carried: Gary Fisher and Kona mountain bikes
This rack is a nice addition for those wanting solid fork mounted rack that can run on many bar/factory styles. However, a little more research for Yakima if it is to fit the true 'universal' realm. The room for the front calipers on a 6" rotor Hayes disk brake will not fit in the room provided. Yakama Racks wins however because I like the rack enough that I upgraded to a 203mm (8") rotor and the adapter on the brake moved the calipers far enough to allow me to keep the rack. Although this fork region of the rack needs to be very strong, I think a bit more engineering could provide the strength for the rack AND enough room to fit what I am told is a very common disk brake size and configuration. Last item is that the lock/clamp assembly rattles against the cross bars when not carrying a bike unless you kludge a rubber band to hold it securely. Bottom line: Nice rack system but measure and fit disk brakes carefully and cut up an old tube to make a large rubber band to stop the clamp rattle.
Works Perfectly the way I needed it to!

vehicle(s): 2010 Pontiac Vibe
item(s) transported: 2 bikes
These racks are perfect! I needed to get a rack that would work with my factory crossbars that would actually allow me to lock the bike to the car without using a cable that would bounce around and scratch something. This was the ONLY rack that I could find that offered what I wanted. I put the racks on "backwards" so I was also still able to open the hatch on the back of my 2010 pontiac vibe. It works great!
