Think of the Yakima Base Unit Storage Rack as the base camp for Yakima Racks Integrated Gear Management - Ground Control storage & organization system. In other words, the Base Unit is the foundation. With this you can begin to build your own custom gear management system to organize your gear just the way you'd like. The Base Unit is modular so you can extend it using the Extender Kit (not included; see accessories below), wrap it around a corner and connect to another Base Unit using the Corner Kit (not included; see accessories below) and add any of the available gear hooks and holders (see accessories below) to custom configure your very own garage storage rack system. Premium finish and design-styling means it also works great as a loft, apartment or home storage rack system for gear organization.

• One Yakima 5100 Ground Control Base Unit can easily support up to 800 lbs. of gear - all with just 4 screws mounted to the wall! (all hardware included for mounting to studs in wall, also accessory mounting options listed below for walls without studs and cement walls).
