The Yakima Landing Pads are the base rack solution for many cars, vans and trucks with factory racks and track systems (or directly to roof fixed-points on certain vehicles). Landing Pads attach to factory rack tracks , replacing the factory rack, if it has one, and creates a dependable Yakima multi-purpose base rack solution. Yakima Landing Pads can also connect to Yakima permanent mount tracks, and also to pre-placed fixed attachment points on certain cars with no factory rack where the vehicle manufacturer has supplied mounting points for the Landing Pads. Yakima #6 Landing Pads will also permanently mount to fiberglass surfaces such as fiberglass truck caps, camper shells or tonneau covers etc. and Yakima #7 Landing Pads permanently mount to metal metal roofs that have no factory rack already. Yakima Landing Pads are sold as a pair (order 2 pairs of Landing Pads to fit all 4 Control Towers on a multi-purpose base rack). Requires 2 Yakima cross bars (not included; see accessories below) and 4 Yakima Control Towers (not included; see accessories below). This is one component of a complete base rack system.
