The Yakima Mako Aero Kayak Rack Saddles (8004044) include all the features and ease of use of the regular Yakima Mako Saddles, but now includes universal mounts enabling the Yakima Mako Aero Saddles to fasten directly to virtually all factory rack cross bars, as well as Yakima bars, all styles of Thule Racks load bars, Inno Racks crossbars etc. No Yakima Mighty Mounts Adapters necessary! Each Yakima Mako Aero Saddle can also optionally lock to the base rack crossbars using a Yakima Lock (not included; see accessory add-ons below.) Saddles feature Dynaflex pads that are very flexible when loading a kayak, then firmly grips for a super secure hold during transport. Yakima Mako Aero kayak rack now includes Yakima Mako Pads too, allowing for easier sliding of kayak into saddles and also premium kayak hull protection. One Yakima heavy-duty strap and one Yakima Bow/Stern tie-down strap included with each pair of Mako Aero cradles.
PLEASE NOTE: The Yakima Mako Aero Saddles are sold as a 1/2 set (one pair), providing you the option to combine the Mako Aero 1/2 set with the Yakima HullyRollers 1/2 set (one pair) for effortless single-person kayak loading or using a full set (two pair) of Mako Aero Saddles either with the Yakima ShowBoat slide-out roller system for easist kayak loading or simply used alone when kayak loading is not a primary concern.
- Yakima Mako Aero Saddles kayak rack fits all kayak hull shapes & sizes including tandem, sea-ocean, touring, recreational, river-whitewater kayaks etc.
- Dynaflex pads flex to grip the boat hull and rubber centers make contact when tightened with the included straps to keep boat securely in place during transit.
- Each saddle now includes Yakima Mako Pads, an extra layer of protection at contact points with boat to protect hull's finish (also ideal for optimal protection of gel-coated composite hulls). The Mako pads also allow for easier sliding of kayak into cradles.
- The included universal mounts allow this kayak carrier to fasten directly to virtually all factory rack cross bars as well as any aftermarket roof rack bars including Yakima bars, any Thule bars, Inno Roof Rack crossbars etc.
- Sold as a half set so you can either make a full set with Yakima HullyRollers (sold separately; see accessory add-ons below) mounted to the rear base rack crossbar or add another pair of Mako Aero cradles for a full set to carry one kayak.
- Long lasting stainless steel hardware.
- The included heavy-duty strap has an innovative quick release chuck, for easy removal when not in use. Padded buckle also protects both vehicle and boat from scratches.
