Great Truck Rack

This thing was simple to setup, only took about an hour. It attaches to your bed rails without scratching or denting. I did have to cut my bed liner though, so make sure you know where you want them to end up. Don’t want to cut more than necessary into the liner. It fit perfectly on my GM truck without drilling and is amazingly solid. I wanted it primarily for carrying kayaks, so I also purchased two sets of Mako Saddles that attach directly to the crossbars. These are reasonably priced racks that can also be used to carry ladders, lumber, or anything else that you might not want in your truck bed, as long as the load doesn’t exceed the maximum limit of 300 lbs.

I wanted to carry kayaks on my truck, but because the roof of my cab isn’t long enough, the bars can’t be spread apart far enough to safely carry them. So I ended up putting one crossbar with a pair of Q-towers on the roof and used one Outdoorsman 300 (this is the reason why they are sold in half packs) on the truck bed, and it works great. The Outdoorsman uprights are extremely durable and affordable as well. You might want to get a pair for that complete ladder rack look, or you can do what I did and pair up a half pack of Outdoorsman uprights with a half pack of Q-towers. Either way, you’ll have a great rack system for your truck.
