The Yakima Q Clips are designed to fasten to the Yakima Q Towers, creating a superb roof rack solution cars, pickup trucks & vans that do not have rain gutters, factory racks, factory side rails etc. Order two pairs of Q Clips to fit all four Q Towers. Yakima Q Clips are packaged in pairs to allow for many configurations that require a certain pair of Q Clips for use on the two Q Towers positioned on the forward location of the roof top and a different pair of Q Clips for use on the two Q Towers positioned on the rear location of the rooftop.
There are many Yakima Q Clips available for use with the Yakima Q Towers, each Q Clips model is designed specifically for use on specific vehicle makes / models (see our Yakima Racks automated fit guide above or below to determine the Q Clips required for your vehicle). When ordering, we will gather your vehicle year/make/model info during "order check out" to ensure you receive the correct Q Clips.

The Yakima Q clips and Towers fit my Toyota Prius perfectly. I am able to carry my 2 kayaks with ease. I do take them off (also easy enough) when not using them because of the wind noise and mileage impact.

These things fit like a glove. They fit my car perfectly and are so easy to put on and take off its crazy. They, along with the rest of the yakima set up make carrying bikes easy and stylish.

June B. asks - I have an old Yakima rack from my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee that attached to the factory side rails. I want now to use it on my 2006 VW Jetta TDI sedan rooftop. Are the Q Towers and Q Clips what I need? I think I can then reuse my 58 inch crossbars?
ORS Crew answers - Yes, you will need a set of four Yakima Q Towers and two pairs of Yakima Q5 clips. You can then attach your 58 inch cross bars to the Q Towers and mount the Q Tower rack to the 2006 VW Jetta TDI rooftop using the Q5 Clips. The 58 inch bars are necessary for the 06 Jetta rooftop, the 48 inch length would be too short.
Rick asks - What is the height of the Q Towers?
ORS Racks Direct crew answers - The exact height when mounted on different vehicles will vary slightly, but a good working measurement of the Q Towers is 4" tall when installed on the roof top.
Mark B. asks - I have a Yakima Q Tower system from a 2000 Nissan Maxima. Can I transfer this over to my 2007 Acura MDX rooftop (currently no side rails or factory rack or anything).
ORS Crew answers - You would be able to use your current Q Towers, however you cannot use the Nissan Maxima Q clips. Instead you need a pair of Q131 clips and a pair of Q34 clips. Also your current cross bars are most likely too short, as the Nissan Maxima calls for 48” length cross bars and the minimum length that you can use on the Acura MDX are 58” length crossbars.
John asks - Do Q clips also come with the neccessary specific pads that go between the Qtowers and the car rooftop?
ORS Crew answers - Yes, along with the specific Q Clips you order for your vehicle, you will also receive the specific pads needed for attaching to the bottom of your Q Towers. The pads are included in the Q Clips box.
SLA-flamme asks - Just bought a 2011 Toyota Corolla 4dr with naked rooftop. What model Q clips are needed? I already have the Q Towers and bars from another car.
ORS Crew answers - You will need a pair of Q5 clips for the front Q Towers and a pair of the Q83 clips for the rear Q Towers.
Harold asks - I have both a 2003 Honda Civic and a 2007 Prius. Is the Yakima Q Tower rack interchangable if I have the appropriate Q clips? Do I need a 58" bar for two kayaks?
ORS Crew answers - Exactly, you can switch the Yakima Q Towers system between both vehicles as long as you have the correct Q Clips for each car. You will need two pairs of Yakima Q114 clips for the 2003 Honda Civic and a pair of Yakima Q5 clips and pair of Yakima Q124 clips for the 2007 Toyota Prius. The 2007 Toyota Prius requires the longer 58 inch length crossbars (the 48 inch length would be too short), and the 58 inch crossbars are the ideal length for carrying two kayaks.
