The Yakima Raptor Aero Bike Rack (8002093) includes all the same great features as the regular Yakima Raptor bike rack and also includes the Yakima Universal Mighty Mounts hardware for connecting the bike carrier to virtually all factory racks. The Yakima Raptor Aero is a practical and affordable solution for attaching an upright mount bike rack (no need to remove any wheels, simply load the entire bicycle onto the Raptor Aero) directly to factory rack crossbars. No additional adapters or hardware needed, Yakima Universal MightyMounts included. Works with all styles of bikes - road, mountain, women's, kids & bmx styles included - as long as the bike frame downtube is from 1" to 3" in diameter (virtually all bikes meet this measurement). Besides factory racks, this bike carrier also attaches directly to Yakima base rack crossbars, Inno Racks square bars and any Thule Racks load bars. Yakima lock core recommended (not included; see accessory add-ons below) to secure bicycle inside the Yakima Raptor Aero bike rack.

Works as described, stable, easy to install and use

Bought 2 of the racks for my Outback for a camping trip we were taking. Product arrived well packaged and surprisingly lightweight. Instructions were straightforward to follow - with the exception of the E-clip which seems totally useless - and quality of the product and materials is very high. I put the first together slowly to make sure I did it correctly in about 45 minutes, the second took about 10 minutes. Make sure you tighten the hell out of the brackets attaching the rack to the cross bars to prevent slipping and also ensure the flat plates are aligned perfectly with the cross bars to allow the bikes to sit and remain as perpendicular as possible. Word of advice for anyone mounting these on curved cross bars: mount these as close as possible to the middle of the cross bars and as evenly as you can or else you will get excessive lean. Seemed like common sense to me but I was amazed at how much lean there was when they were mounted closer to the longitudinal rack rails. Also bought the lock cores as accessory.
