Rocket Box is totally fine

I'll admit, the Rocket Box isn't the sexiest box out there these days, but it is less than the real sexy ones, and it is a great box that does everything you'd want. It is crazy light, which is nice, and it is just the right size for my ski gear and any other gear I want to carry. Plus it is narrow enough so that I can also keep my bike tray on my crossbars. Totally cool. Highly recommended as a somewhat affordable cargo box.

The Rocket Box easily stores skis, fishing rods and other items. I have also stored a guitar, clothing, backpacks, and luggage in it, without any problems. If you concerned about water getting into the Rocket Box, forget it. The Rocket Box has a seal around the lid, which keeps water (and moisture) out. It attaches easily to the bars, opens and closes easily, and is secure. Good box, but a bit pricey considering it is afterall, plastic.

ORS Crew says - The Yakima RocketBox series cargo boxes have a specific range of adjustment to fit crossbars with differing distances between the front roof rack crossbar and the rear roof rack cross bar (referred to as crossbar spread). The Yakima RocketBox 15s model will fit any crossbars with a spread of 24" - 36". The Yakima RocketBox 11 & 16 models will fit any crossbars with a spread of 30" - 36".
Shinnick asks - Will this work on top of my 2008 Infinity EX-35 that has factory roof rails and cross bars? I want to carry luggage and golf clubs for vacation.
ORS Crew answers - Yes the RocketBox 15s works great as a 2008 Infiniti EX35 luggage box. Other good options are the Thule 603 Ascent 1500 and Thule 667ES Excursion. All will mount directly to the factory cross bars. Also these roof boxes will not impact the rear door. It will be able to open all the way without hitting the cargo box.
Robert B. asks - Is the Yakima 7147 Rocket Box 15s rear opening? Are the hinges at the front and the lock at the back rather than side opening?
ORS Crew answers - No the RocketBox 15 opens from the side (lock is located on the side too). If you're interested in a rear opening box we recommend the Thule 667ES Excursion box.
Sal asks - Will this fit on the 2011 Nissan Rogue factory rack cross bars and can I carry 2 golf club bags?
ORS Crew answers - Yes it serves nicely as a 2011 Nissan Rogue cargo box and can carry 2 golf club bags. Mounts directly to the factory roof rack crossbars.
Laura asks - Will this luggage carrier mount directly to 2011 Ford Explorer factory rack cross bars?
ORS Crew answers - Yes you are all set. The Yakima 15s installs directly to the '11 Ford Explorer factory bars.
Greg D. asks - Will this fit my 2011 Honda CRV factory rack crossbars. I am concerned the roof box might be too wide because the crossbars are only 36 inches long.
ORS Crew answers - No worries, you are all set to go with the RocketBox 15 on the 2011 Honda CRV factory rack cross bars. This is actually a perfect fit because even though the box has a 38 inch width, the mounting brackets are not located at the edges of the box and are instead a few inches inside of the edge. So the mounting brackets are spaced narrowly enough apart to fit on the 36 inch length 2011 Honda CR-V roof rack factory bars.

This car roof mount luggage / cargo box connects directly to Yakima multi-purpose base rack round crossbars, Inno roof rack bars, all styles of Thule base rack load bars and virtually all factory roof rack cross bars. At order checkout we will obtain your vehicle year/make/model info to ensure this cargo carrier is compatible.
We offer 2 fulfillment options for cargo boxes:
1) Shipment by freight to residential/commercial addresses
2) In-store pickup.

1) For Shipments to Residential and Commercial Addresses
(choose delivery method of “SHIPS VIA FREIGHT”)
PLEASE NOTE: An additional freight charge of $50.00 will be added to your order as this item cannot be shipped via UPS/Fed Ex due to its oversize dimensions and must be shipped via freight & we ask that you please allow up to 2-3 weeks for delivery of this item. For your convenience this item ships directly to both residential and commercial business addresses, please supply either a residential or commercial business address for delivery at checkout. Please inspect your Cargo/Gear Box before signing and accepting delivery (this means removal from the cardboard carton and inspection for any visible damage as well as function of hinges/lid supports/locks) from freight company as ORS Racks Direct cannot accept returns or damage claims of these items after delivery has been accepted by the customer. If the box is damaged and unacceptable please refuse delivery with the LTL Freight company and contact us for resolution. $50.00 freight charge will be waived. 6% Vermont Sales Tax WILL apply.
