Having gotten tired of strapping my board to my Yakima crossbars with standard loadstraps on top of crossbar pads, I finally decided to throw down and buy a proper surf rack. I wanted something simple to use that would load my boards quickly but that was also secure, obviously. Out of all the carriers I checked out, the StrapThang seemed the easiest to use. It is a pretty slick system and it hasn’t let me down. I sometimes haul a single board and other times two long boards, and it works just as well in both cases. The boards are held firmly in place and are easy to strap down and unstrap. To lock the surfboards, I use the Lashlock, which as far as I can tell, is the best surfboard lock out there |
