The 60 inch Yakima Roof Tracks - 8001135 (sold as a pair) are for permanent rack installation applications and make it possible to build a multi-purpose base rack system on any fiberglass surfaces. Common, popular solutions include any pickup truck fiberglass camper shells, caps & toppers, tonneau covers, Jeep Wrangler Hard Top, pop up campers and more. Once the pair of 60" Yakima Tracks are installed, simply attach the Yakima Control Towers roof rack system to the Yakima roof tracks (the Yakima LP1 / #1 Landing Pads are the correct Landing Pad for attaching to Yakima Tracks).
The 8001135 Yakima Tracks offer the superior option of adjusting and positioning the roof rack anywhere along the roof tracks for perfectly setting the distance between the front and rear crossbars and matching whatever load is being carried, such as distancing the cross bars further apart to provide a safe foundation to carry long gear and equipment such as ladders, lumber, canoe, kayaks etc.

ATTENTION:
The 8001135 Yakima 60" Tracks are installed by drilling into any fiberglass surface such as pop up camper rooftops, Jeep Wrangler Hard Top, any pickup truckbed cap, topper & camper shell, fiberglass tonneau covers etc. Includes specific bolts and nuts (no Plus Nuts) for installing on fiberglass surfaces only.
For installing to sheet metal surfaces, such as pickup truck, van and car metal roof tops, you will need to use the 8001127 Yakima 54" Tracks or 8001126 Yakima 42" Tracks as both of these roof track systems include Plus Nuts for specifically installing to metal surfaces.

WHY WOULD I INSTALL TRACKS?
Yakima Roof Rack Tracks provide a way to install a rack where no other option exists, or offer an alternative in where a rack is positioned and placed on a vehicle's roof. Some simply prefer the appearance over other options.
WHAT YAKIMA BASE RACK SYSTEM DO I USE ON TRACKS?
For mounting to the Yakima Roof Tracks you will need to use the Yakima Control Towers roof rack system (the Yakima LP1 / #1 Landing Pads are the correct Landing Pad for attaching to Yakima Tracks).
HOW DO I PUT THE YAKIMA TRACKS ON?
The included installation instructions clearly illustrate where to position the roof tracks and where to drill the mounting holes. Mark those points, drill the holes, install the bolts and nuts and tighten down the tracks. Again, the included Yakima Tracks installation instructions clearly outline each step of the process so you know you'll get the job done right.
WHAT KIND OF WATERPROOFING IS USED?
The tracks come with a waterproofing kit including nylon and rubber washers, a pad running the length of the track, and silicone for the screw threads. Installed as directed by the instructions, it'll always keep the water out and resist corrosion much better than a factory installed rack.

Followed the easy factory directions. Secured well with supplied hardware and silicone. Finished look is good. Had to cut small access holes on top to put in Yakima Landing Pad track hardware. Will not have Control Towers and crossbars installed until needed. That's how my pop up camper tracks were installed. Access holes in track allows you to remove Landing Pads and reuse elsewere.

Sally asks - Will a Thule basic rack system work with my Yakima 60" track system installed on my pop up camper?
ORS Crew answers - Yes, the Thule Tracks and Yakima Tracks have identical specifications. So the Thule 430 Tracker II roof rack will work in the Yakima 60” Tracks. Be sure to select the TK1 Tracker Kit, which is the Kit for use on Thule or Yakima roof tracks. You’ll probably want to select the extra long 96" length load bars as well.

This is a permanent rack that is installed by drilling into a fiberglass truck cap, camper shell, Jeep Wrangler Hard Top, fiberglass tonneau cover, pop up camper rooftop and similar applications. These 60 inch Yakima Tracks include bolts and nuts for installing on fiberglass surfaces only. Will not work on metal tops. You will need the 8001126 42" or 8001127 54" Yakima Tracks, which include Plus Nuts for installing on metal surfaces (see accessory add-ons above for these options).
Yakima 60" tracks can easily be cut to any shorter length for custom fit applications.
